TOWN HALL ON RESOLUTIONS – PROPOSED AND ADOPTED

Resolutions are the first step in
advocacy.
Resolutions create the foundation of our CFUW advocacy
policy.

Today is the beginning of a
nationwide look at all aspects of both
proposed and adopted resolutions.
Why is this a Town Hall topic?
All here have Club resolution experience Whether
creating,studying or amending proposed ones, andadvocating on them.
We want your input!
A new Resolution begins with
a concern, an issue!
Current Process• Does CFUW already have policy?
– The Policy Book should be checked.
• If not - a resolution is proposed– Complete with Resolved Clauses, Background and
Resources, using the current CFUW Resolutions Information and Guidelines
• Assisted by the Resolutions Committee
• Sent to Clubs for study and amendments
• Voted on at AGM
Current Timeline• June 30 Intent form due• Sept. 30 Draft proposed resolution due • Nov. 15 Proposed resolutions
circulated to clubs• March 31 Amendments due• May 15 Deadline for emergency
resolution• Shortly after Amended proposed

put the issue on their agenda
