Valentines Day is Friday, February 14th!
You can expect decorating, music, food
and a party!
Tuesday, February 25th is Mardi Gras. Join us for fun and
celebration all day. The party begins at 10:00 a.m. with Paczki
and coffee.
If you have ever had any interest in the theater including acting,
directing, producing, lighting, or other technical aspects of live
production then you should consider becoming involved in Readers
Theater. Readers Theater is a unique form of stage production
where the actors are not required to memorize a script. It also does
not involve stage blocking or costumes but rather the story and
emotions are completely communicated through the spoken words
of the actors as they read the script. This is a fun exciting way to
perform theater without the added pressure of memorization. If you
have a flair for the dramatic then this is the perfect opportunity for
you!

We're going to be seeing a lot
of pink and red this month.
From Valentine's Day to
American Heart Month and all
the celebrations in between,
these pink and red shapes
hold a whole lot of meaning.
Here are a few quick facts
about hearts: The average heart is the size of a fist in an adult.
Your heart will beat about 115,000 times each day. Your heart
pumps about 2,000 gallons of blood every day. Our hearts are
amazing and do so much for us! February is a month to recognize
the power of our hearts. This month especially, aside from
appreciating the beauty of our hearts mechanics, let us appreciate
love and what a heart can represent. Let's reach out to one
another, show love and compassion, and be kind!
Heart toHeart It’s flu-season and word from our
medical community is that it’s a bad one.
Several of you have gotten your flu shot,
but here are some tips for staying
healthy the remainder of the flu-season.
1) Follow the 6-foot rule with anyone
who appears to have a respiratory
illness. The most frequent way the flu is
transmitted is by coughing or sneezing.
Droplets with germs seldom travel
beyond 6 feet. 2) Wash your hands often,
especially after you shake hands. 3)
When out in public, try to avoid touching
your lips, nose, or eyes unless you have
just washed your hands. Most people
don’t even know they’re doing it. Studies
have shown that people touch their faces
an average of 16 times an hour. 4) If you
do get the flu, stay home so you don’t
infect others.
Path to Well-Being
The New Years Eve Fifties Themed Party was a wonderful success. The
committee did an outstanding job planning and decorating! The band was
delightful and our own Lindsay Clay sang and entertained us during
intermission. We enjoyed banana splits, root beer floats, Boston Coolers
served by these fine gentleman recruits. After the raffle and the countdown
to the "ball" dropping, we toasted in 2020 with a champagne toast served
by hospitable residents. The evening ended with the band leading us
in "Aulde Lang Syne." Happy 2020!
