Each year we will grow at a better rate, said Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Government of India, while speaking at the 4 th National Leadership Conclave of All India Management Association (AIMA). While speaking on the AIMA- KPMG report on Industry 4.0: India Inc. gearing up for the change, released on the occasion, and the theme of the Conclave, Suresh Prabhu said there is always fear and apprehension before any change, but creating an environment to welcome the revolution is a good idea. “With proper policy framework and changes we can easily grow at a much higher rate. There are so many structural changes that have happened that will take the nation to a different growth trajectory,” he added. Guest of Honour Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Government of India, spoke about the current situation of the aviation sector; the sector’s target of a billion trips; and major initiatives to realise that target. “We have hit the rail parity in three interesting ways and they are in terms of pricing, volume or passenger trips and total revenue,” the minister said. The minister also mentioned that safety, security and finding the land to build new greenfield airports are some of the challenging areas that they are working on. “Creating employment prospects for people is another area we are focussed on. We have to develop required skill sets to support the growth of the sector,” he said.
