VISION FOR SUMMER 2018: WE ARE AN EXCITING FACULTY (FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF.) WE PROVIDE CHALLENGE FOR ALL TO REACH THEIR POTENTIAL. OUR STUDENTS ACHIEVE EXCELLENT RESULTS

ACROSS ALL SUBJECTS AND ENJOY DOING SO. TARGET FOR 2016 RESULTS: 10% ACHIEVE A/A*/DIST, 80% ACHIEVE OR EXCEED TARGET

1. Tracker grids for coursework and exam theory... (RAG’d)2. Explicit numbered success criterias (and levelled exemplars)3. Simple 1st check on current grade via number of success criterias achieved.4. Self/peer assessment and a teacher check of CTG.5. Do not mark if the students do not respond, they must spend 10x longer on responding than you do on marking!6. Challenging homeworks with explicit success criterias, self assessed before hand in, then peer marked, then student CTG, then teacher check CTG in lesson.7. Re-modelling, CTG for whole lessons, , then finally re-grade.

OUR CTG WILL ENSURE MAXIMUM PROGRESS OVER TIME...HOW?

A RESEARCH SECTION 4 MARKS DATE MARK FEEDBACK CTG HOMEWORK INTERVENTION? RE-MARK ON TARGET?

Design Brief and Analysis (1 page) Design brief (State the problem, the situation and the user) What needs to be researched? Why is it relevant? How will you research it?

Target market Define your client or target market in terms of social and

cultural as well as qualitative and quantative statements. Interview them in terms of how this problem relates

to them and their specific as well as wider views(There is the option to do a questionnaire here instead)

Draw a series of conclusions from this. Moodboards 1-2 pages (half per idea)

In discussion with your client define 2 to 4 areas of design, culture, inspirations and moodboard these.

These will be meaningless unless each contains a dialogue with your client about their thoughts on each.

State how each or elements of each may influence your design work later.

Anthropometrics / Ergonomics Define your brief in terms of ergonomics and anthropometrics

What measurements do you need to know, on a... Human scale As well as identifying specific measurements and ergonomic

use and comfort considerations for your problem

Product Anlaysis (2 pages) Research xxisting products for sale ideally in a primary

context and not Secondary (eg; internet is bad!) Analyse them using an analysis framework. Show images of significant areas. Get client feedback and respond to it.

Sustainability

Research issues surrounding sustainability in your given context, be sure to be specific to your problem.

Get client feedback again and respond to this, how importantis this to them and what have you found out?Do not cut and paste random 6R’s stuff!

B SPECIFICATION 6 MARKS DATE MARK FEEDBACK CTG HOMEWORK INTERVENTION? RE-MARK ON TARGET?

Specification 2 pages max. Specification points should be realistic, use technical language. They are measurable in that they are labelled and heirarchical. Specification points are justified by linking to research/client. Sustainability of resources is realistically considered.

Student to tick here when CTG’d

FACULTY OF DESIGN, TECHNOLOGY AND ITYEAR 8 RM HOMEWORK ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNING & CLOSING THE GAP

The brief: The British Government are investing hundreds of millions of pounds in new housing and want ideas from young people about what future housing might look like in the year 2116 (100 years from now!). They want the ideas to be really creative, unusual and experimental. No square boxes and rectangular win-dows, think about what new housing might need to have in it and be able to do! You are to create a model using any material that will help you to show your ideas in 3D.

SELF PEER

1 I have made a model in 3D.

2 My idea is innovative, exciting or unusual.

3 My model has an outside area (eg garden, relaxation space or whatever!)

4 My model has a figure in it to show scale.

5 My model shows great care with precise joining and finish

6 The materials I have chosen very well reflect the final finish.

7 My model is detailed and complex and shows a good level of detail.

8 My model has no messy glue marks or scrappiness!

9 I have photographed my model from differetn angles and annotated the photos.

10 I have produced a presentation detailing all the new and exciting ideas in my model.
