3rd EDAI International Conference on Neurodevelopment and Mental Health

More than 30 national and international highly distinguished speakers such as Filippo Muratori, Peter Fuggle, Norka Malberg, Richard Schwartz, Åsa Bartonek, Patrick Luyten, Michaela Linder-Lucht, Leticia Asenjo, Mark Dangerfield, Pascual Palau, Alfredo Garcia-Alix, Àlex Sales, Jordi Arévalo, Raul Márquez, Noelia de Miguel, Irene León...

A 3-day Conference with several itineraries: Psychology, Mental Health, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work and Neuropediatrics, where innovative methodologies on chil-dren and adolescent mental health will be presented. For the first time in this edition we will include Workshop practices in our parallel sessions.

Dr. Dickon Beavington Dr Dickon Bevington is Medical Director at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. He leads training in AMBIT and other MBT approaches and is a member of the Mentalization Based Treatment for Families (MBT-F) team.

He is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He leads CASUS, an outreach service for complex substance-using youth. He is also a Fellow of CLARHC, a collaboration based in Cambridge University dedicated to developing leadership and research in health and social care.

Dr. Michaela Linder-Lucht Neuropaediatrician at Freiburg’s University Clinic.She is Associate Lecturer at EDAI.

Her expert field is epilepsy and autism, and she has also published several articles on neuropaediatric research, such as on hemiparesis or on brain mechanisms affecting movement, amongst other topics.

She has also worked at CDIAPs EDAI and at del Hospital del Mar in Barcelona.

III Jornadas Internacionales de Neurodesarrollo y Salud Mental

Dra. Åsa Bartonek Doctor in Physiotherapy (Karolinska Institutet).

She has published several articles on motion and gait function in children with neurological movement disorders.

She has outstanding research work on cerebral palsy and Myelomeningocele.

Leticia Asenjo PhD Student in Psychology and psychotherapist. Clinical Director of EDAI. MBT-F Supervisor at the Anna Freud Centre.Assosiate lecturer of Masters Degree in Professional Intervention in Early Years Attention (University of Barcelona).

She is currenty writing her doctoral thesis at the Anna Freud Centre, adapting the Mentalization-based internventions programme to the specific needs of autistic children and their families.

Dr. Richard Schwartz Doctor in Psychology and Speech Therapist.President of the Speech and Hearing Sciences of City University (New York).He has collaborated with the University of Pittsburgh or the University of Tel Aviv, amongst others.

His research has been focused on SLI, autism, neuroimagen de los trastornos del lenguaje, implantes cocleares y neurobiología.

Awarded by several very prestigious international institutions, such as the Linguistic Society of America, the American Speech, Language and

Dr. Filippo Muratori Medical Doctor and lecturer at University of Pisa (Italy).Neuropsychiatrist and Director of the Clinical and Research of Unit of the Stella Maris Centre (Calambrone, Italia).

Specialised in Early detection of autism, in eye-tracking and neuroimaging.

He has participated in national (Italian) and European macroprojects on autism diagnosis.

Dr. Norka Malberg Doctor in Psychology and Psychoanalyst. Expert in Mentalization.

Assistant Clinical Pofessor at the Yale Child Study Center in Yale University (Connecticut, USA)

She is one of the five authors of the Mentalization-Based Treatment for Children.

She has published outsandings studies in the field of Child Psychoanalysis and the theory of Mentalization (some of them with other Anna Freud Centre professionals, where she has also worked).

Dr. Patrick Luyten Doctor in Psychology and Associate Professor at the University of Leuven (Bélgica), Professor of Psychodynamic Psychology at University College London (UCL) and Assistant Professot at Yale University (Connecticut, US).

He’s a member of the Anna Freud Centre and an expert in Mentalization. His main interests are disorders in the affective spectrum and personality disorders.

In 2009 he was awarded the Psychoanalytic Research Exceptional Contributions Award by the International Psychoanalytical Association.

The members of the public will also vote for their preferred poster.

1st EDAI Research & Development Awards: In 2016, First Prize was awarded to Miriam Gallarin, Bárbara Torres-Gómez, Iñigo Ochoa de Alda and Ione Bretaña, from University of the Basc Country (UPV/EHU) for their research work : “Attach-ment as a protective factor in adopted adolescents: A multi-sample study”.

The Second Prize was awarded to Alba Pérez-González, Noemí Pereda, Georgina Guilera, Judit Abad and David Finkelhor, from University of Barcelona and University of New Hampshire, for their research work: “Lifetime Prevalence, Psychological Problems and Resilience Factors in Ado-lescent Victims of Caregiver Abuse”.
