Mira de Aire, Portugal
• Tourism is very good to the town because it brings tourists and also money for the local economy.
• But tourism is also bad because it brings more pollution, traffic and noise.
Mira de Aire Caves
• Mira de Aire Caves were descovered in 1948, but they were only visitable in 1974. They are the biggest caves of Portugal with 11km, but only 800m are visitable. They are considered one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal.
Water Park
• The water park of Mira de Aire: “Aquagruta” is open from June to September. It has three pools: one for children, one for adults and one with slides.
The old church• The first church of Mira de Aire dates
from the 15th century. In 1900 the bell tower was built and it was restored. In the end of the 20th century, with the construction of the another church right next to it, the old church became a museum.
Mira de Aire forest
• Mira de Aire forest is 4 Km long and 1800m large. It is an enormous green spot in the valley between the two mountains.
