Identify and discuss the development of the tourism industry in one of the six resort

transportable in relations to the development of the area?

6.  Does the location provide the necessary support services to facilitate tourism in the area?

(attractions, transportation, restaurants etc). Provide evidence.

7.  How is the resort area marketed? (i.e., by a tourist board, chamber of commerce, resort area

website, brochures etc.).

8.  Are there strong linkages with other industries within the area? Explain.

Instructions!

Each Course is assessed based on two written examinations and two term papers (a few

courses deviate). The term papers are;

1.  Individual Research Project (Due September 22, 2011)

2.  Group Research Project (October 11, 2011)

1.  LECTURE SUPPORT AND ASSIGNMENT SESSION (Group Work)

Guideline: Twelve (12) one hour timetabled Group Meetings 

  The 2500 word Assignment is to be presented in research form. Students must submit a

progress report to the lecturer Week 5 of the semester with the final draft presented by the

latest, Week 11 of the semester. This assignment is valued at 20% of the course grade. 

Students must be present at all LSA. Each absence and lateness represents 1/12th

of LSA Grade

deducted. This is necessary that you do not impede the performance of the other group

members.  Group Presentation is Week 12 of the semester.

  Assignment must be presented as a formal Research, typed and bounded, following the

appropriate research standards outlined in the assignment.

2. INDIVIDUAL RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT

  1500 Worded Project with field research component. Assignment must be presented

as a formal Research, typed and bounded, following the appropriate research standards

outlined in the assignment. This assignment is valued at 30% of the course grade.
