2017 China- Europe Research and Innovation Tour Beijing Launch Event, 27 October 2017

The 2017 China-Europe Research and Innovation Tour (Tour) was successfully launched in Beijing at the Italian Embassy to China on 27 October 2017. Receiving over 200 Chinese and European participants from the research and innovation communities and European embassies, the event was opened by the Italian Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi and the Deputy Head of EU Delegation to China Chris Wood with keynote speeches by the Deputy Director General for International Cooperation from the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology Zhu Xuehua, the Acting Head of Unit from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation Philippe Vialatte, and the Deputy Director General of Beijing S&T Commission Zheng Huanmin. Opportunities offered by the research and innovation funding programmes at both the EU and European Member State level were presented together with inspirational testimonials from successful projects, sharing their experiences of cooperation. The Beijing Launch Event of the Tour also witnessed the unveiling of the European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs (ENRICH) in China.
