(DEUSS)
Years in US School: Calculates amount of years the student has been in school. It is used to calculate the type of meeting required based on DEUSS date (Annual = Years 2 & 3; REEVAL Year 4 and beyond).Date of Entry in U.S. School (DEUSS): *Reflects when a student entered a US School. It is used to calculate years in the ESOL Program for scheduling Annual Reviews, REEVALs, and promotion/retention decisions. ELL Plan Date: *Identifies the last time there was an update to the student’s ELL plan, therefore it will be updated throughout the year. (At the beginning of the year for all LY students, when a meeting occurred, schedule change, etc.) It is used to check if the student ELL Plan is up to date. RE-EVAL Date:*Most recent date a REEVAL Meeting occurred. Any student in Years 4 and beyond requires a REEVAL meeting on or 30 days prior to DEUSS date.Cross check DEUSS date, YRS in US School and REEVAL date to ensure meetings have been completed in a timely matter. (REEVAL, plan and meeting dates must match)

Inclusion of English Language Learners Percent Tested• English language learners (ELLs) who have been enrolled in a U.S. school less than two years are included in percent tested;• The dates used to determine years enrolled are:- “Date Entered United States School” data element as reported on Survey 3 - First administration date of the writing section of the FSA English Language Arts (ELA) assessment. for the 2016-17 school year is February 27, 2017.
Inclusion of English Language Learners Achievement• As defined in Rule 6A-6.0901, F.A.C., ELLs are included in the achievement components once they have been enrolled in a school in the United States for two years. • The dates used to determine years enrolled are:- the “Date Entered United States School” data element as reported on Survey 3 and- First administration date of the writing section of the FSA ELA. The date used for the first day of the writing section for the 2016-17 school year is February 27, 2017.

Inclusion of English Language Learners’ Learning Gains
• English language learners (ELLs) are included in the learning gains components once they have two consecutive years of assessments.
• For ELLs who did not take the FSA ELA assessment during their first year of enrollment, an FSA ELA-linked score will be calculated based on their English language proficiency assessment results. This linked score will be used as the prior-year score in the learning gains calculation.
For the 2016-17 learning gains calculations, the English language proficiency assessment results used are the prior-year ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 results.
