Introduction Setting up Peachtree Accounting software is a very detailed process that must be followed to prevent errors from occurring when importing from Strategy Live. This document will walk you through the entire process of setting up Peachtree Accounting Software.

Field Mapping The first step to setting up Peachtree is to map the fields that are contained in the transfer file. These must be mapped exactly as shown or errors will occur and may be difficult to locate. Go to File> Select Import/Export to setup the mapping.

The Select Import/Export screen will be displayed.

Sales Journal Mapping On the Select Import/Export screen select Accounts Receivable in the left window. Next, select Sales Journal from the right window and then click the Import button at the top. This will display the Sales Journal window.

Click the Show None button on the left to remove the checkmarks from the Show column.

Select the following choices in the Show column and place them in order using the Move Up and Move Down buttons to the left.

Peachtree Accounting 2006 requires a different mapping. It is displayed below.

Sales Journal 1. Credit Memo 2. Customer ID 3. Invoice/CM # 4. Date 5. Customer PO 6. Ship Date 7. Date Due 8. Accounts Receivable Account 9. Number of Distributions

10. Quantity 11. Item ID 12. Description 13. G/L Account 14. Unit Price 15. Tax Type 16. Amount

Once the mapping is in the proper order click the Save button. The Save As box will open.

In this box change the name to something you will know to be Strategy Live and click the Save button. This will take you to the Sales Journal window where you will click the Cancel button.

Customer List Mapping On the Select Import/Export screen select Accounts Receivable in the left window. Next, select Customer List from the right window and then click the Import button at the top. This will display the Customer List window.

Click the Show None button on the left to remove the checkmarks from the Show column.

Select the following choices in the Show column and place them in order using the Move Up and Move Down buttons to the left.

Once the mapping is in the proper order click the Save button. The Save As box will open.

Purchases Journal Mapping On the Select Import/Export screen select Accounts Payable in the left window. Next, select Purchases Journal from the right window and then click the Import button at the top. This will display the Purchases Journal window.

Click the Show None button on the left to remove the checkmarks from the Show column.

Select the following choices in the Show column and place them in order using the Move Up and Move Down buttons to the left.

Once the mapping is in the proper order click the Save button. The Save As box will open.

Vendor List Mapping On the Select Import/Export screen select Accounts Payable in the left window. Next, select Vendor List from the right window and then click the Import button at the top. This will display the Vendor List window.

Click the Show None button on the left to remove the checkmarks from the Show column.

Select the following choices in the Show column and place them in order using the Move Up and Move Down buttons to the left.

Peachtree Accounting 2006 requires a different mapping. It is included below.

Vendor List 1. Vendor ID 2. Vendor Name 3. Contact 4. Address – Line One 5. Address – Line Two 6. City 7. State 8. Zip 9. Telephone 1

10. Fax Number 11. Tax ID Number 12. Use Standard Terms13. Terms Type 14. Due Days

Once the mapping is in the proper order click the Save button. The Save As box will open.

In this box change the name to something you will know to be Strategy Live and click the Save button. This will take you to the Vendor List window where you will click the Cancel button.

Setup Chart of Accounts Setting up the Chart of Accounts properly in Peachtree is a very important step. The account numbers must match exactly or Peachtree will give an error and the import will fail. Go to Maintain> Chart of Accounts to setup the accounts.

The Maintain Chart of Accounts window will be displayed.

Enter the Account ID exactly as the accounts are listed in Strategy Live. The Description doesn’t need to match Strategy Live. Then choose the proper Account Type and click the Save button at the top.

Setup Inventory Items Every item that can be charged for on an invoice needs to be entered into the Inventory Items file. To get to this file go to Maintain> Inventory Items.

The Maintain Inventory Items window will be displayed.

Enter the Item ID exactly as the items are listed in Strategy Live. The Description doesn’t need to match Strategy Live. Then choose the proper Item Class and click the Save button at the top.

Once all of these steps have been completed your Peachtree software will be setup for Strategy Live importing.

Importing to Peachtree It is a very simple process to import files into Peachtree Accounting. This section will explain the process. Go to File> Select Import/Export. This will display the Select Import/Export window.

On the Select Import/Export screen choose the proper Account type to be imported. For this example we used Accounts Receivable> Customer List – Live. Once you have selected the proper type click the Import button at the top. This will open the Customer List – Live screen.

Click the Options tab. This will display the path to your file.

Click the arrow pointing to the file path and choose your file that you saved from Strategy Live and then click the OK button. A box that says you should make a backup, do you want to continue will open. Select “Yes” to continue.

Once you click the Yes button your file will be imported and will be viewable in Strategy Live.
