When a project involves creating a new must-
see pedestrian district anchored by a world-
record-breaking Vegas-ized observation wheel,
it takes an equally spectacular team to bring it
to life. “The team is THE most important thing,”
observes Greg Miller, Senior Vice President of
Development for Caesars Entertainment.
“We needed people who were not intimidated
by the large scale, not afraid of being part
of something special that everyone is going
to recognize.”
What’s it like being part of such an iconic
addition to Las Vegas? “It’s an honor,” says
David Codiga, Executive Project Director, “it’s
rare to be part of something this great.” Then
he adds with a laugh: “At the same time, it can
be extraordinarily challenging. This is probably
the most complex ride system any of us has
worked on.” That’s saying a lot, considering the
team brings decades of experience from Walt
Disney and Universal Studios. In fact, they have
connections that span decades. The relative
new kid on the block and Nevada native Jon
Gray brings his distinct Vegas style to his area
of responsibility – The LINQ shopping, dining
and entertainment district.
MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE LINQ
The LINQ team

“Vegas demands audacity and over-the-top,”
Greg notes. He adds: “The High Roller is so much
more elegant and beautiful than any other wheel.
The creative intent was to have it appear to be
lightweight, without a lot of structure.” The cabins,
he says, “are like charms on a bracelet.”
And because it’s Vegas, there’s more to the
wheel than the wheel itself. “What we all share
is the overall show presentation that goes
into everything we do,” explains Disney and
Universal Studios veteran Randy Printz. As
the wheel project manager, Randy’s portfolio
includes the Indiana Jones and Amazing
Spiderman attractions.
Greg was involved in brainstorming ideas
for land between The Quad and Flamingo that
began in 2008. Later that year, the concept for
the entertainment district and wheel began to
take shape. Construction began in November
2011, and an early highlight was seeing the first
cabin built in December 2012. In November 2013,
the first cabin was installed on the wheel and
raised to its apex, which officially made High
Roller the world’s tallest wheel.
Eric Eberhart, High Roller General Manager,
fondly recalls an especially touching moment
the team shared with the American Bridge
ironworkers. “When they completed the
steelwork, we had a picture taken of them
standing on top of the hub, 275 feet above the
ground. It was an amazing moment, and very
touching to see their reaction.” That photo is now
a giant mural in the Sky Shop. “Each of those iron
workers can come here, bring their families, and
point out their photo,” he says.
As the work progressed, Jon was amazed at
the interest in the wheel. “I’ve gotten photos, texts,
tweets and emails with photos taken from airline
passengers, locals and tourists. It’s generated a
fan base of its own,” he says. As David puts it:
“The wheel definitely has its groupies.”
The team is equally proud of the entertainment
district with its carefully selected mix of tenants.
Jon explains the decision-making process: “We
asked ourselves, if you went to Chicago, Dallas,
or LA, is this something you would see? If
the answer was ‘yes,’ then we knew it wasn’t
right for The LINQ.” Where else can you find
Brooklyn Bowl and Sprinkles Cupcakes right
next to each other, across from BLVD Cocktail
Company, developed by Vegas downtown bar
scene entrepreneurs? The team is excited about
possibilities for outdoor events as well. “Rock,
country, electronic dance, food, World Cup,
tailgates for games, extreme sports. Those are
just a few of the possibilities,” Jon hints.
As the massive project came to fruition, they
looked back with just a little nostalgia, and a
great sense of pride at what’s to come. “The
LINQ is the core of the city. Even the brand
name ‘The LINQ’ says come here to meet up to
enjoy the barhopping, live music and shopping –
any time day or night,” Greg concludes.
Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended;
select a reservation time when you purchase your
ticket. Tickets can be purchased at: The LINQ
electronic ticket kiosks near las Vegas Blvd., the
High Roller box office, The LINQ concierge or
online at TheLINQ.com.

The LINQ has you covered
from head to toe with an
array of one-of-a-kind shops.
Each of the retailers has been
carefully selected to offer
something for everyone that
you won’t find everywhere.
Run, don’t walk to the
premier sneaker boutique
12A.M. Run. Co-owned by
hip-hop legend Nas, “Midnight
Run” is a hub of street- and
sport-inspired fashion. On
the opposite end of the shoe
spectrum, you can shop for a
new pair of stilettos at Bella
Scarpa. It’s not just for high
heels: check out other styles
plus their handbags and special
apparel collections.
You’ll go just mad for the hats
at Goorin Brothers Hat Makers
– established in 1895, and still
up to date with today’s styles
for men, women and kids. Try
on ball caps, fedoras, bowlers,
knit caps and more, with expert
assistance from their staff.
If you’d like to add a little
spice to your wardrobe,
visit Ruby Blue. You’ll find a
seductive array of items you
won’t want to wear in public
including lingerie and bustiers,
as well as provocative novelty
games and toys. On the not-
quite-so-naughty side there’s
costume jewelry and fashion
accessories.
Keep strolling along the
streetscape to get a taste
of Chilli Beans, a Brazilian
eyewear and accessories brand
founded by rock ’n’ roller
turned CEO Caito Maia. The
brand releases 10 new styles
of sunglasses each week in
exclusive designs and limited
quantities. Here you’re sure to
find something that matches
your style from high-end
fashion to retro glam to fun
and quirky.
Last but not least: with a
hoola-hooping salesperson
outside the store, we couldn’t
miss KOTO. This is a boutique
you’ll want to browse for
inspiration and for unique
trinkets you might see on
trendsetting blogs.
The store was founded in
Aspen “by the need for random
adventures.” To stay fresh and
on-trend, the inventory changes
weekly, so if you like something,
buy it right then and there (you
may not see the hula hooper
outside next time either). You
might find smart phone cases
disguised as cassette tape
covers, bluetooth mini-speakers
in primary colors, gummy bear
lights, or today’s newest “must
have.” An array of price points
means clever, creative and
affordable items that will have
your friends asking, “Where did
you find that?”

THE HIGH ROLLERUPS THE ANTE ON ENTERTAINMENT
To board the High Roller you’ll
pass through the five-story
wheelhouse, which includes
interactive elements on the first
floor and a lounge on the second.
Boarding takes place on the third
floor, where you’ll enter into air-
conditioned cabins, equipped with
two bench seats, eight flat-screen
televisions and an iPod dock. A
photographer snaps your photo
in the wheel building prior to
boarding and has it ready for you
by the time you exit. With the
cabin’s open sight lines combined
with the slow and gentle ride,
you’ll feel like you’re flying high
above the city as you take in
unparalleled views. At the end of
your 360-degree journey, stop
in at the Sky Shop, with lots of
“wheely” fun souvenirs.
You can take your special event
or party into the sky as well. The
building’s fifth floor is devoted to
hospitality, complete with outdoor
patios, and can be reserved for
catered private parties. Want to
wed on the wheel? Rent out a full
cabin to say “I do” at the highest
point of the journey. If you’re
a traditionalist, the groom and
wedding party can board first
for one full round, then have the
bride make her grand entrance
into the cabin at the beginning
of a second revolution.
“The High Roller is something that
wants to be experienced daytime
and nighttime,” says Eric Eberhart,
High Roller General Manager. Every
time of day and every season has
a unique appeal, whether it’s the
sparkling lights at night, a brilliant
sunset over the Strip, or beautiful
vistas at high noon.
Wheels are everywhere in Las Vegas: at the roulette table, the
Big Six game and on slot machines galore. But even Vegas
has never seen a wheel like the new High Roller. Even before it
opened, Travel + Leisure magazine named the observation wheel
to its list of “World’s Coolest New Tourist Attractions.” The 550-
foot high attraction is the focal point of The LINQ entertainment
district and the world’s tallest observation wheel.
OPEN 10 AM – 2 AM DAILY · Purchasing tickets in advance
is recommended; select a reservation time when you purchase your
