Why

1. Only 34% of engineering students are getting job every year(Ref- AICTE)

2. 45% of seats remain vacant every year in engineering collages(Ref- AICTE)

3. Lack of on field training/internships in engineering education

4. Conventional method of teaching5. Industrial and social organizations find difficulties to

scale up their models due to unskilled human capital

Objective

1. Enhancing the employability of engineering students in industrial and social sector through improving their competencies.

2. Enabling students to be a social Techno-preneur by utilizing available successful models of industrial and social organizations.

3. Capacity building of engineering faculties through ‘Faculty Leadership Program’

4. Scaling up industrial and social products by replicating their models in different locations of India through engineering students

MethodologyRole of Social organisation1. Training- in one specific domain2. Exposure- support students in on field implementation of projects3. Establishment- Incubation(student’s new start ups will be developed

under the guidance of incubator organisation)Role of Industry(industrial machineries)4. Training & Exposure- Industry will provide on-site training to students

on industrial machines which are manufactured by industry5. Establishment- industry will provide industrial machineries to the

students to start their own manufacturing unit . Cost of machines will be paid by the profit made by students periodically.

Outcome1. Students will be making themselves eligible to enter in the social

and industrial sector as an employee where problems of the society and industries can be solved by the technology.

2. Students will be developing themselves as a leader/change maker in this sector where they would be replicating the best existing working model in the sector of solar, waste management, agriculture, water treatment. The model can be a for-profit or not for profit depending upon the student choice and proposal for project

3. Competencies development of the faculties of engineering college4. Social and industrial organizations will be able to scale up their

models/products into unexplored markets.
