The usual blazing Chinese New Year sun never fails to light up the sky with spring atmosphere. Red long firecrackers hung outside along with the percussion accompaniment, consisting of cymbals, drums and gongs to imitate the lion’s movements. It’s the time for the vibrant lions and their majestic dance routines to light the office with joy and goodwill. Staff of TTMS were invited to celebrate this festive event and their anticipation towards this event has filled the room with excitement. The lion dance was followed by our first ever “lou sang” arrangement, a prosperity toss by the management team at the courtyard. The “lou sang” was made to shape like a cherry blossom tree with yellow flowers to signify good fortune, abundance, and ever blooming growth in the company.

Lastly, the lively lions went to all departments to shower our staff with blessings, honour, prosperity and good luck. Overall, it was a happy and lucky day for all of us!

Fire drills at work place is essential to raise staff’s awareness on the emergency preparedness in the building in order to exit the building in the quickest and safest way possible if a fire, smoke, carbon monoxide or other emergency occurs. Besides that, the drill will help staff familiarise with the running route and sound of the fire alarm. The goal of an emergency evacuation plan is to ensure all employees and visitors get out of the facility safely and all are accounted for after evacuation. Having done our fire drill on October 19th, 2016, staff of TTMS has successfully evacuated and gathered at the assembly point in 2.34 minutes, breaking our previous record and making sure that we complied with the requirements of the ISO 14001 Emergency Preparedness. To conclude, the fire drill was effectively executed thanks to our team of fire marshals, coordinators, and cooperative staffs.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

“To be doing good deed is man’s most glorious task.” – Sophocles.

The Toshiba Group has long been encouraging its subsidiaries all

Social Responsibility by simultaneously developing corporate

activities and contributing to the achievement of a sustainable

society.

In addition, voluntary participation in social contribution

activities is a meaningful way for individuals to help in solving

social problems. Toshiba Group recognizes and promotes this,

and once again on December 5th, designated by the United

Nations as "International Volunteer Day“, which also known as

“Social Contributions Simultaneous Action”, and encouraged

employees around the world to join together and carry out

social contribution activities.

At Toshiba TEC Malaysia, we have held three programmes in

conjunction with the event that includes a Blood Donation

Drive, Charity Donation Campaign of recyclable items, and Dine
