LHP Franklin Morales earned a hold, giving up one hit while striking out one batter in the 8 th frame. RHP Ryan Tepera gave up 1 ER on two hits and a walk in the 9 th . DH Jesus Montero was 25 with a double and an RBI, while LF Darrell Ceciliani was 24 with a double and 3 RBI. OF NOTE: Diamond has given up 4 hits over 7.0 IP in each of his last three starts, over which span he has given up only 3 ER and earned 2 wins. All Fisher Cats but one recorded a single hit, including LF Dwight Smith Jr. and DH Emilio Guerrero each doubling, and SS Shane Opitz with a 2run 2out home run in the 4 th inning. RHP Luis Santos had a solid start, allowing 3 ER on 7 hits and 1 walk over 6.1 IP while striking out 5, but LHP Matt Dermody earned the win, striking out 2 batters over the following 1.2 innings. DUNEDIN BLUE JAYS (A) – FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE

Dunedin: 0 runs, 3 hits, 1 error Brevard County: 3 runs, 7 hits, 0 errors 

 GAME RECAP: The Dunedin offence was unable to produce as they were shut out on Monday and held to only 3 hits and a walk. CF Anthony Alford recorded the lone walk, while SS Richard Urena, C Mike Reeves, and 2B Dickie Joe Thon each singled. RHP Francisco Rios had a very strong start, tossing 5 shutout innings with 5 strikeouts before handing the ball to RHP Brad Allen. Allen recorded 2 strikeouts in a perfect 6th inning, but gave up 3 ER on 2 hits and 2 walks in the 7th, earning his 4th loss on the season. RHP Dusty Isaacs pitched a perfect 9th.   OF NOTE: Rios did not walk a batter in a start for his third time in 10 starts since joining Dunedin. This was only his 3rd “non‐quality start” in 10 starts with Dunedin.  Next Probable Starter: RHP Justin Shafer (1‐4, 6.33)   

LANSING LUGNUTS (A) – MIDWEST LEAGUE

 Dayton: 5 runs, 11 hits, 1 error Lansing: 12 runs, 11 hits, 1 error 

 GAME RECAP: Down 3‐2 heading into the bottom of the 6th, the Lugnuts were able to score 10 runs over the next three innings, earning themselves the win. Every batter, but two drove in runs, including a 3 RBI night from 2B JC Cardenas, who hit a 3‐run home run, a 2 RBI night from DH Max Pentecost who was 2‐4 with a double, and a 2 RBI night for 1B Juan Kelly who was 2‐3 with 2 walks. RHP Jordan Romano continued his strong pitching, allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks over his 4.0 IP, but LHP Nate Abel was credited with the win, allowing 3 ER on 5 hits over 2.0 innings of relief.  OF NOTE: Cardenas has 3 HR and 12 RBI in his last 10 games after recording 0 HR and 8 RBI in his first 40 games. Pentecost has 5 multi‐hit contests in his last 10, and has hit in 13 of his last 14 games. He has 4 home runs, 3 doubles, and 10 RBI in his last 9 games. Romano has allowed 1 ER or fewer in each of his 5 starts in 2016, but has only pitched into the 6th inning once, resulting in four consecutive no‐decisions.  TRANSACTIONS: RHP Andrew Case returned off minor league rehab from Gulf Coast to Lansing DL. Reinstated from the DL @ Lansing.  Next Probable Starter: LHP Tayler Saucedo (3‐7, 5.28)   

VANCOUVER CANADIANS (SHORT A) – NORTHWEST LEAGUE  

Vancouver: 4 runs, 10 hits, 0 errors Salem‐Keizer: 2 runs, 11 hits, 1 error 

 GAME RECAP: Three consecutive singles loaded the bases for the Canadians with no outs in the 7th while the game was tied at 2, before a passed ball scored RF DJ McKnight and CF J.B. Woodman hit an RBI single to put the Canadians up by 2. 1B Christian Williams was among the most important offensive contributors, going 2‐3 with a walk, a double, and a home run to lead off the 4th inning, as well as the scoring for the Bisons. Despite giving up 8 hits and 5 walks, RHP Dalton Rodriguez allowed just 2 ER over 5.0 IP.

 OF NOTE: Rodriguez gave up season‐highs in hits (8) and walks (5), while striking out a season‐low 2 batters. He has allowed 2 runs or fewer in 3 consecutive starts. 2B Cavan Biggio has the 6th best AVG in the Northwest League at .326.   Next Probable Starter: LHP Juliandry Higuera (1‐2, 3.86)   

BLUEFIELD BLUE JAYS (ROOKIE) – APPALACHIAN LEAGUE  

 Bluefield: 10 runs, 14 hits, 1 error 

Elizabethton: 5 runs, 11 hits, 2 errors  

GAME RECAP: Bluefield recorded 7 XBH and saw 5 batters record multiple hits in a bit of a slugfest on Monday night. RHP Osman Gutierrez threw 5.0 innings, allowing 4 ER on 8 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5. LHP Luke Gillingham was awarded the win, allowing 1 ER on 2 hits and a walk over 3.0 IP while fanning 4. The top batters were RF Nick Sinay who was 3‐6 with 2 runs, 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. who was 2‐5 with a triple, 1B Brady Jones who was 2‐5 with a home run and 3 RBI, 2B Juandy Mendoza who was 2‐5 with 2 doubles and a pair of RBI, while C Matt Morgan was 2‐3 with a home run and 2 RBI.  OF NOTE: Gutierrez recorded season‐highs in hits (8), walks (3), and ER (4) while tossing 5.0 innings for his third consecutive game. Gillingham struck out a season‐high 4 batters. Sinay has scored at least one run in five straight games, totalling to seven over that stretch. Guerrero recorded his first XBH that wasn’t a home run. Jones has 7 RBI over his last four games. Mendoza has multiple hits in back‐to‐back contests, 4 RBI in his last 2 and 6 RBI in his past 4.  Next Probable Starter: RHP Jose Espada (0‐2, 7.56)    

GCL BLUE JAYS (ROOKIE) – GULF COAST LEAGUE  

 GCL Blue Jays: 8 runs, 11 hits, 0 errors GCL Braves: 2 runs, 6 hits, 2 errors 

 GAME RECAP: RHP Dany Jimenez led the Blue Jays to an 8‐2 win, allowing 2 ER on just 2 hits and 2 walks over 5.0 IP while striking out 5 batters. LHP Jake Fishman earned a hold, allowing 3 hits over 3 innings while fanning one batter. LF Bo Bichette was 2‐5 with a double and an RBI, while RF Antony Fuentes also went 2‐5 with a double and an RBI.   OF NOTE: Bichette has hit in 8 of his 9 games this season, including 5 multi‐hit games. He is by far 1st in the GCL with 17 RBI (2nd has 11), while placing 2nd in the League with 21 TB. Fuentes has an RBI in consecutive games.  TRANSACTIONS: C Dan Jansen assigned on minor league rehab from Dunedin DL to Gulf Coast.  Next Probable Starter: RHP Maximo Castillo (0‐1, 22.50)
