Twilight Fans are Winners To celebrate the finale of the Twilight Saga
books/movie series, serious Twilight fans gathered in the Philadelphia High/Middle School library to enjoy refreshments, games, and prizes sponsored
by librarian Jamie Calvert. Students who had read all four books excelled at a trivia quiz and in
matching quotes with the appropriate characters from the novels. Students enjoyed comparing
their Twilight knowledge with another fan, Principal Jason Gentry. Kim Kilpatrick assisted
with the festivities. Ultimate Twilight fans Brownisha Clark and Chaney Hartley used their
love of reading to earn the top scores on the Twilight trivia quiz and capture the grand prizes.
Brownisha won a copy of Breaking Dawn, the last novel in the Twilight series, while Chaney won a
free movie pass. Students in the PPSD are encouraged to continue reading and to utilize the library in order to participate in future fun events.

THANKFUL STUDENTS During the month of November, library patrons
at Philadelphia High /Middle Schools have been expressing their gratitude. Each time a
student checks out a book, he/she is encouraged to list one thing for which he/she is
thankful and to display the inscriptions in the library. Brownisha Clark and Roshonda Needom are shown examining students’
responses. Students indicated that they were thankful for family, friends, good health, and even school! Jamie Calvert is the librarian for
the high school and middle school.
