An invitation to join the Year of Volcanic TransformationMaking double efforts for fast self-transformation and volcanic yoga

Dear souls,As you know, Baba has signaled this year as the year for achieving volcanic or intense transformation. Last year we developed the practice of intense stage of volcanic yoga that can bring deep transformation in the self. This year we will make double efforts by practicing both intense transformation on a daily basis and on the first Sunday of each month having an intense volcanic yoga bhatti.

As a year ends, the lokik world starts to review their year by asking what they have achieved and where they have failed. On New Year’s Eve there is a resolution taken for the year. In Brahmin life, rather than once a year, there is celebration in every moment. Our resolution is to be introspective and to follow a clear goal of transformation. In the last murli, Baba said that you should be able to transform yourself in a second. However, this year BapDada doesn’t want us to practice gradual transformation.

To follow Baba in this, we need to check ourselves, and ask what has been my transformation up until now. How far have I reached in achieving my aim and object? Most of us have been working gradually on ourselves. We have been transforming our old sanskaras. However, world service rather than self-transformation has become our most powerful subject. Baba now wants us to work on self-transformation. We just need to keep in mind that everything is possible if you have determination to keep on moving.

During the Year of Volcanic Transformation, our aim is to work on self-transformation through reflection and self-checking.. To make this process intense and to bring newness in myself I must keep the aim to become BapSaman. Become aware of your present image compared with your future image. To bring such deep change and become free of the influence of old sanskaras we have to sit down and reflect on our present stage.

This year will involve going through such a deep checking of our efforts so far that will be able to clearly see what it is that we have achieved, what I want to achieve, and what will require my attention. All these questions must be answered. Only this can fulfill Baba’s hope is that we will achieve a flying stage and become BapSaman as soon as possible. Such deep transformation is Baba’s desire for us for this year. Starting involves comparing myself with Brahma Baba to see to what extent I have become similar. What is the gap? It is this gap that I have to fill with yoga power, attention, determination…. So, I need to start reflection and checking on everything.

We wish you best wishes for the year from Didi Nirmala and the Volcanic Transformation Team

Aim: Self-transformation, transformation in the BK family and then world transformation

How: Use the power of the gathering. Create a wave of transformation amongst ourselves (BKs) around the world by having a unity of purpose and making intense efforts using the creative images, ideas, commentaries and powerful slogans from the 2006-7 season’s Murlis and Senior’s classes and commentaries.

Beginning the Year of Volcanic Transformation: A month of Deep Checking of our Chart and AimsThe first month will be a month to check our aims for the New Year. There is a list of questions developed by Didi Nirmala in her class given for this New Year. This will help us to do deep checking of our present stage of transformation and formulate new aims for this coming year of transformation.

Yuktis for the year: 1. download an inspiring image, connected with a powerful slogan from the VT web site2. join the self transformation club3. study amrit vela and yoga bhatti points, commentaries and reflective class material4. use the months image as a screen saver on the computer 5. print the image and slogan and put it up on the bulletin board of the centre6. down load classes and points with the murli batch of that month and print out for study7. have deep yoga first Sunday of every month focused on attaining fiery or volcanic remembrance8. read for inspiration for the bhatti :World Volcano Manual 2006, also on VT web site9. listen during yoga bhatti to yoga commentaries of audio CDs or mp3 available from VT web site10. have daily yoga on volcanic transformation: 4.45 – 5.00 or at the end amrit vela

New Resources: World Volcano Manual 2006, on volcanic remembrance, some new but mostly last year’s material that have been re-organised and edited. It is available through NCOs, (also available on the VT web site).

World Volcano Meditation Commentaries are a new series of audio CDs produced in Madhuban, in 2007, a co-operative effort of the sound department and art department of Gyan Sarovar, senior yogis, and the Australian WVB Team. These are for sale in Madhuban or will be available as MP3s for download from the web site, topic wise, each month.

New: Ideas for this year: Self Transformation Club: A new idea for the year is the formation of a Self-Transformation Club for those wanting to email

directly to other BKs and share their ongoing process of transformation. A short text for reflection goes out to club members monthly, as well as monthly mansa seva

drills. Aims are to go deep into the realization of the role of transformer. Members will write down personal experiences share them by email. Centre will create spaces for dialogue among club members. These ideas were developed by BK Gopi Elton – Australia, BK Corinna Alicante – Spain, BK

Mathias – Switzerland, BK Aloisio and BK Brigida of Brazil, BK Will Gonzalez – Philippines, BK Laura – Israel together with some members of the World Volcano committee of Australia.

Volcanic Linkup: Transformation Bhatti - 2007-8 Linking up the Brahmin World in yoga for 24 hours every month

Part of the Year of Volcanic Transformation

Focused rays of light and might, golden beams from Baba,Will transform us into master suns, active transformers, combined, BapSaman,

Activating a linkup of fiery yoga for self and world transformation.

This is an invitation from Didi Nirmala and the VT team to join in the volcanic linkup from May 2007- May 2008. This takes place on the first Sunday of each month and will intensify our efforts for self-transformation. The bhatti seeks to link the fiery yoga and intense efforts of all Brahmins globally. The practice of volcanic yoga creates a 24-hour active link-up of light between Brahmin households and centres.

Activating the links of the chain of yoga power: Small teams of yogis will gather in different households and centres in their city, so the whole BK family of that region is activated into generating a powerful fire of yoga. The bhatti becomes a combining with God through mind and heart creating an intense fire of love and transformation. Those linked to the global chain of yoga create an environment for Baba's power and magic to work wonders. There are 8 hours for each region. Within each region, countries or areas will link in to the bhatti for 2 hours minimum and up to 8 hours if they are free. Please read the following schedule carefully and look for the name of your country or region. Please confirm your participation by email.

- Best wishes from the Volcanic Transformation Team

Dadi Classes

A Time for TransformationDadi Janki - 15 March 07 - Madhuban (over the phone to London)On the day of the Satguru, I always feel that we have the omens of Jupiter over us because we are the direct children of the Father. Even the deities do not have this intoxication. We are part of this Godly family, which God created Himself by making us belong to Him and because of this we are also able to become part of the Sun Dynasty clan. We are such souls who constantly receive the direct rays from the Sun of knowledge and become conquerors of Maya and nature. Baba says 'you are My children'. Bache means children but it also means 'to be saved'. We have been saved from Maya and now Baba is taking us to the land of peace and then He will send us to the land of happiness.

All of you know that I do not make promises. I feel we have Baba's blessings over us. By keeping those blessings in our awareness, in our heart, we can incorporate them in our practical life. Check - is there anything other than Baba in my heart? If there isn't, then you are able to experience happiness and intoxication and your heart can become very strong. Secondly, check that there is no trace of any sin left in your account of the past. For this, you have to make remembrance so firm and powerful that all traces finish.

The theme for the NCO meeting was 'A Time for Transformation'. For me, transformation is learning to become one of the original jewels. Rather than having a list of individual things to transform - this list may be very long - think of transformation as a whole. Think 'I have to become part of the original jewels'. Then transformation will be total. Baba says ‘Our vision creates our world and our attitude’. The vision is that no defects remain in anyone. Everyone would appear as if they were perfect already. So, whilst living within the family - have an attitude of being completely beyond. Om shanti

Dadi Janki, GCH 8th July 2001: Changing my natureIt is when I don't remain dependent on my nature that I'll be able to bring about transformation in my sanskars. My nature can only change when internally my feelings are very pure and very benevolent. Let there just be the feeling that there should be benefit for everyone. First, there has to be the realisation that Baba has brought benefit to me and then all I will want to do is bring benefit to everyone else.

With understanding, you are able to change your nature. Sanskars are subtle and until you go into the depth of that subtlety, it is not possible to change. However, nature is visible; it is practically in front of you. It is someone's nature to wilt or smile. Trivial matters like allowing your mood to change are also your nature. You don't understand your own feelings or the feelings of others and then you allow your mood to change. You shouldn't be doing this. Sanskars are very subtle, sometimes you'll see transformation and sometimes you'll find it difficult to do so. If instead, you work on changing your nature, which is on the surface, it can be done very easily.

Make sure you don't allow yourself to be dependent on your nature or it will become your enemy. If I change my nature, then my nature becomes my friend. The moment something goes wrong and you point a finger at someone else that moment you become your own enemy. Don't consider anyone else to by your enemy. Realise the enemy within. The enemies are your own weaknesses and defects. Understand those weaknesses and become powerful.

Page 7: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

Dadi Janki, 23rd June 2001: Transformation happens through realisation. It doesn't happen when I force myself to change. So not let me not apply force on myself or others. Force spoils relationships. When there is peace, introspection and Baba's love then realisation comes. I can see what I must do and what I mustn't do. Don't make laborious efforts to remove the alloy of the soul. All you have to do is practise the bodiless stage and remember Baba with all relationships. It's not enough to remove the alloy with just the bodiless stage. When I remember Baba there is love. That love is the fire that melts the alloy.

Dadi Janki, 27th August 2003: When you have true recognition of the self-inside then there is transformation. I the soul am a pure being, a totally pure soul. Through that deep purity, there is the experience of peace. Then the soul feels love for the self. You also feel happy and this gives you power. ....We are creating the sanskaras of God’s sustenance. He is our companion and our friend, and through unbroken remembrance, He is making us faithful brides. To the extent you remain a faithful bride He gives you power.

Dadi Janki– 02/12/05: When we don’t keep ourselves in front of Baba, the situation feels like a burden and nothing seems possible. By keeping Baba in front of you, allow the magic of complete transformation to take place.

Dadi Janki, 7th January, 2001: Moments of transformationThose who have the knowledge of the drama, their internal eye opens with their own understanding. Understand drama and take Baba's help. In these moments of transformation, bring self-transformation. There needs to be a great deal of good wishes and pure feelings for the self. There should be no thinking of others. Do not mix anything. Give God your co-operation. Baba does so much to change human intellects. I must give my support and co-operation in His work.

Keep a chart of the things you have to pay attention to. A chart is about checking what you are doing. What is your awareness, right to the end of the day? At the same time you stay in the awareness of the self. Baba says, 'Through Brahma I change you from ordinary beings' into divine beings. From early morning, check your awareness with honesty. This awareness makes me strong and powerful. Baba fills this awareness with power. In every activity, word and thought, let this power be filled with awareness.

Nobody else gives you pain or sorrow, but you create your own pain and sorrow by having thoughts of sorrow. You then blame others and create a burden for yourselves. Promise yourself that no matter even if someone gives pain, give thanks to that them as they are making you strong. Baba is giving us such elevated training to be like Him. Don't create sorrow for yourself by holding onto your own thoughts. What service can someone do, if they are caught up in their own thoughts? Just copy and follow the Father. It is then not necessary to think.

It is very easy to give correction and complaints, but just think I have to become complete. Have that sweet vision of becoming complete. I am the child of the Bestower and so my face should reveal this. Train and reform the eyes and the ears. Om Shanti

Dadi Janki, GCH 8th July 2001: Power of the gatheringYou are in the gathering. Experience the power of the gathering. First, you have the power of your personal experience; Second, you have the power of the gathering; Third, there is the power of the Almighty Authority Father who also increases the power of the gathering.

Internally the only concern that remains is to spread this power of peace to the world. How can you do this? It is only possible when you stay with the one Father beyond this world, when you remain up above in that world of silence. The physical sun, moon and stars are up above. The stars don't sparkle on the earth, they sparkle in the sky. The more we remain up above and beyond, the more the original light and power of the soul gives others the experience of that.

Newness for the New YearQuestions for checking the self for the new year of intense volcanic transformation- IVT Year

Didi Nirmala 24/12/06

VT Team: A month of Deep Checking of our Chart and AimsThe first month of the Volcanic Transformation Year will be a month to check our aims for the New

Year. Below is a list of questions developed by Didi Nirmala in her class given for this New Year. This can help us to do deep checking of our present stage of transformation and formulate new aims for this

coming year of transformation.-----------------------------------------------------------

As the year ends, the lokik world starts to review their year by asking what they have achieved and where they have failed. On New Year’s Eve there is a resolution taken for the year. In Brahmin life, rather than once a year, there is celebration in every moment. Our resolution to be introspective and to follow a clear goal of transformation is always there. In the last murli, Baba said that you should be able to transform yourself in a second. Now BapDada doesn’t want gradual transformation. For this, we need to check ourselves, and ask what has been my transformation up until now. How far have I reached in achieving my aim and object?

Right from the beginning, I adopted this Brahmin life and finished my shudra life. Now my aim is to change from angel to deity. Most of us have been working gradually on ourselves. We have been transforming our old sanskaras. However, world service rather than self-transformation has been our most powerful subject.

Time is less but what happens is that now in gyan everything is refined. Last can go fast. Everyone’s experience can help you. So no-one needs to think, we have come late so we can’t become BapSaman. Those who came last, or are second birth Brahmins, they can use refined gyan and see and take sustenance from the examples of the seniors. That help makes anything possible. That is why Baba is talking about transformation in one second. Everything is possible if you have determination and keep on moving.

Now we should make it our clear aim to work on self-transformation. Our first priority is to bring newness in myself and total transformation that is to become BapSaman. To do this we need to spend time checking ourselves. Ask yourself, what your present image is and what your future image is. In the worldly life we compared ourselves with the people around us. Either we had ego that we were better than them, or we had low self-esteem and thought that we were not as good as them. So our stage fluctuated. Sometimes we were happy sometimes sorrowful. Our stage was influenced by circumstances, situations and people around us. So in order to bring total change and be free of the influence of these old sanskaras we have to sit down and ask ourselves about our present stage.

Some of you are writing a chart. In a similar way, in earlier times, we would not only write a chart but now and again we would check ourselves very deeply. This is similar to when we get our bodies checked. The doctor says that all those over the age of 40 should get checked for cancer and other common problems. If you catch these diseases at an early stage you will be better off. In the same way after 6 or 12 months of doing a chart, we would go through a deep check of the chart and see what we have achieved, what we want to achieve, and what requires attention. Baba’s hope is that we will achieve a flying stage and become BapSaman as soon as possible. That is Baba’s deep desire.

I need to compare myself with Brahma Baba and see to what extent I have become similar. What is the gap? I have to fill this gap in with yoga power, attention, determination… and so on. So, I need to start checking everything.

From Didi Nirmala: Questions for checking the self for the new year of transformation

Page 9: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

1. Do I allow waste or negative thoughts?First I need to look at my present level of thinking. Baba has been emphasizing that I must not allow waste thoughts to develop. Ask yourself, do I allow waste thoughts, negative thoughts, ordinary or elevated thoughts to develop in my mind? Create a list of what I am thinking now at this very moment. Assess the state of your thoughts.

2. Do I think of solutions rather than just question the drama? When I see something unusual in my behavior or attitude you can check to see why and how that has happened. Rather than question what happens say ‘wa, drama.’ Rather than complaining about the drama and saying ‘Why’, seek the solution. I am a knowledgeful soul. How can I bring change and transformation in this situation? I should find the answers.

3. Are all my thoughts stabilized in the present?Rather than thinking about the past see if all my thoughts can be stabilized in the present. Baba says give a full stop to the past. Rather let me check, ‘Have I become the embodiment of Baba’s teaching?’ All of us are knowledgeful. I know what I could be and what not to be. But we are missing being powerful, in order to become the embodiment of what we know. We know that we are BKs. But is that awareness there all the time. That awareness has to be strong and constant.

4. Am I checking my thoughts and bringing newness in my thinking?First I must check my thoughts and bring newness in my thinking. I have to check, be my own teacher and supervisor. Baba says that the language of silence is best. How much do I use the language of drishti and silence? Or am I just relying on words?

5. Am I checking my words? Are my words loveful, gentle and royal? We are becoming Raj Yogis, are my words like Baba’s? Baba was always encouraging and empowering everybody. Are my words empowering and uplifting or am I criticizing and judging others thoughts and words. Am I speaking harshly or sweetly? Baba says speak softly, sweetly and only words that are essential. Am I like that? Or do I still have the old sanskaras of speaking loudly, harshly, abruptly and expanding on everything.

6. Have my manners changed from the old shudra sanskaras? My manners are they changed from the old shudra sanskaras. Does my walking, talking, eating and sleeping appear royal. Are they like that of Brahma Baba?

7. Do I have the manners of giving respect to others and keeping them in front?Baba would speak respectfully to others. Mama always used the Hindi word ‘ap’ rather than ‘tum’ (you), because ‘ap’ is a respectful way of referring to others. So are we giving that kind of respect to others, saying you first? Baba keeps the children in front by reminding them of their specialities.

8. Is my drishti and vision completely pure and soul conscious? My drishti and vision needs to be completely pure, soul conscious. Do I have bhai bhai drishti when I see others? If I am judgmental in my drishti there will be some negativity. If I am attracted or impressed or dislike someone, then it will show in my drishti.

9. Is my attitude towards others benevolent? Do I have good feelings and good wishes for everyone? Baba says, even if someone is defaming you, you should be thankful that they are testing your tolerance power. Do I maintain that sort of an attitude when I am being judged, criticized or defamed? What is my reaction?

10. What is my reaction to negativity? In Kaliyug, when there is negativity, I would react with negativity. Am I still reacting in this way with negativity? Any type of negative reaction, even fear, is not really royal. I have to see that my attitude remains positive, benevolent, friendly and loving towards all.

Page 10: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

11. To what extent are my actions mundane, usual or ordinary? Are my actions, karma, too what extent is it just mundane, usual, ordinary, or are my actions and karmas elevated? If I keep the attitude that I am a donor, then naturally I will be donating all the time through my thoughts and words and actions. I will be donating powers to everyone. I will only be able to donate if I have accumulated.

12. To what extent do my sanskaras of being a donor remain active?Baba is emphasizing, that we not waste anything, time, money, energy… but instead we concentrate on having powerful yoga. So the deeper the attention so then I will be accumulating something. Then I can donate to others.

13. Do I expect others to give me love, respect, support or encouragement? Do we have that subtle expectation? Do I think, I have done this so everyone should appreciate me? If they criticize me then do I feel frustrated and hopeless? Do I then feel like doing nothing? I have to see that I am not stopped from being a donor because of someone’s sanskaras and influence.

14. Is my stage that peaceful and powerful that whoever comes in front of me is able to receive something?

So there needs to be donation of my time, energy, powers, gyan… whatever others need. Our images on the path of bhakti had such powers. Bhagats go in front of the image and they feel peaceful and happy. Do I have such power? It may be good vibrations or power that they need. As much as I pay attention to mansa seva to that extent I will be able to serve constantly.

15. Have I brought newness in my relationships? Have I made lokik into alokik. Whether at home or in the office or workplace, or with Brahmins, is there that newness. Am I interacting in a new way?

16. In my relationship with Baba, do I bring newness everyday in meditation? Am I the image of experience and am I experiencing all relationships with Baba? Day by day is it getting deeper? Is there anything new happening in my relationship? My relations with Baba influence my relations with others. The deeper my love for Baba, the more I receive love from Baba and the more I can share this love with others. So my relationship with Baba should be so deep that we are inseparable, Shiva-Shakti.

17. Am I enjoying each and every moment and scene of drama? Am I remaining the observer and detached. If I am remaining observer and ‘upram’, then naturally I will not be suffering. Sangam Yug (Confluence Age) is a time of enjoyment. I have to see that I don’t take suffering, that I enjoy the value of every moment, and experience that every moment is valuable.

18. Do I have full faith in myself, Baba, drama and my victory? If at any time I start thinking, how will it happen? This means that I don’t have faith in myself or my success. Baba has always said that success is your birthright. Am I having this awareness that I am going to be successful? I have to see that I have deep faith in myself, Baba, drama and my victory. When there is lack of self-esteem we become hesitant and unsure of what will happen. We wonder if it will happen or not, we have all sorts of questions. We may take sorrow on various occasions. That is why we have to really ensure that we deepen our faith in ourselves. We have to check our own progress and ask what I have to do to remove my weaknesses.

19. My nature and sanskaras, are they BapSaman?Shiv Baba is incorporeal and bodiless. For how long am I maintaining that incorporeal and bodiless stage? Brahma Baba is loving and detached. To what extent am I loving and detached? Do I make excuses by saying, ‘Oh I am not a Dadi’? Theoretically we say, Oh yes I want to become like Brahma Baba and BapSaman. But then we say, ‘Oh Brahma Baba, he was so loving, the Dadis are so loving, but I am what I am’.

Page 11: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

I must check that I am not becoming slack in my efforts, having the determined thought; I must be as loving as Brahma Baba. Even now, although Brahma Baba is not here in corporeal form, everyone still feels Brahma Baba is our Baba. With the Dadis everyone feels that they are our Dadis. Others should feel about us that these are our brothers and sisters. So the goal is high but we have the aim to reach that goal of being BapSaman.

20. Do I check my reactions in adverse situations? At that time I will need to be so merciful that I can spread that power of peace and mercy towards others.

Our test papers may come from adverse situations. When everything is going smoothly then we feel OK, but as soon as something goes wrong then I have to check my actions and reactions. In the early days of the yagya, to check how attached they were to their ‘lokiks’, they would imagine that their lokik relative was dying. They would see their own reaction. We have to sometimes check these things. On TV nowadays you watch fire, war and tsunamis… What is my reaction at that time? Am I really merciful, or am I fearful, or shocked? What are my feelings? If little things disturb me, what will happen with nuclear war and civil war?

21. Check, are all your powers under your control? Are they your servants? Our aim is be almighty, rulers of the world. But before we rule the world we have to rule ourselves. My thoughts, emotions, sense organs, sanskaras are they under my control? Whichever power I want to use, am I able to use it? When I need to withdraw am I instead facing and fighting? I have to check, if when I give the powers an order that they helping.

22. How long do I take to go through the spiritual drill the exercise for the mind? Does my mind follow that exercise?

Baba speaks about doing the spiritual drill of a second, being in the body one second, and then the next moment being in the subtle region, and then the next moment being in the incorporeal. He also speaks of a drill of 5 minutes and 5 forms, soul world, deity form, worship worthy form, Brahmin form and angelic form. Our goal is to serve constantly through mind. That is the best and most unlimited means to serve others. Serving through the face and the mind is necessary. So what is my stage? In the end they will see your forehead and realize that they are souls. In the end they will see you and realize that they are angels and deities. They will see you and feel peace and happiness.

23. Do I use the power of silence? Brahma and Mama had such a stage of silence that whoever came in front of them, they became quiet. In Mama’s biography it describes her stage of silence. Whoever came in front of her, whatever motive they had, to fight or complain, they became quiet? So do I have that much power of silence?

24. To what extent do I maintain an angelic stage throughout the day?

25. To what extent do I maintain an unshakeable stage?

26. To what degree do I keep one Baba and none else?

27. Compare yourself with Brahma Baba and see what you need to pay attention to?Reading the biographies of Brahma Baba and Mama if you can make a list of Brahma’s and Mama’s specialities. Also make a list of vices and subtle vices. Use these to help check yourself. That will help you to compare yourself with Brahma Baba and see what you need to pay attention to. A clear aim and determination are essential. Then I can bring newness in myself. Newness brings zeal and enthusiasm. If we listen to the murli with the thought that Baba’s murli is the same every day, then it is boring. If I have the aim to find new points every day, then I will write it, churn it and enjoy it. If I sit in a routine way in meditation then I will feel sleepy and will not get so much out of Baba’s remembrance.

28. Check what newness I have brought in the New Year.I have to have new aims in meditation and then there will be so much experience and attainment.

Page 12: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

Service with newness will create zeal and enthusiasm. Have newness in study, churning, meditation and relationship, then with this aim there will be quick transformation. Otherwise Baba has to be waiting for a long time. He says I am waiting, scientists are ready, but the children’s stage is not ready. Baba is warning us. Time is short but we are not running fast. So as with New Year’s Eve, if all of us, and BK’s worldwide, have the firm resolution to create total newness, then that will help increase Baba’s task. Baba and the children will be revealed. Baba will be revealed as Bestower and we will be revealed as angels.

29. Have you created a plan to increase your powers? The main way to increase our powers is through meditation and tapasya. We are meditating but meditation by churning gyan will just increase our churning power. If we are having conversation with Baba, this will help us to feel close to Baba. But the seed stage will help us to increase our power in all ways. We need all the powers. In order to have that tapasya, deep meditation, powerful stage, we need to first practice soul consciousness. Body consciousness is the root of vices. Soul consciousness is the root of all the powers. From soul consciousness we move on to incorporeal, bodiless and seed stage. To have that powerful yoga we need to follow ‘srimat’, ‘satwic’ diet, not waste time in movies and books. We have to pay attention to srimat. We need to follow ‘srimat’ accurately so we will have the necessary level of purity. Purity is the foundation of meditation.

There needs to be a love for solitude. It is not that we are happy just to sit for half an hour in the morning and half an hour at night. But if I have love for solitude I will have frequent meditations through the day. Traffic control gives us both a reminder and opportunity. I have to be following these practices with love and interest. As we increase our practice our love of Baba will be deepening; this will help us to further deepen our meditation.

We need total disinterest in the old world. If we are interested in the old world, our mind will be drawn. Being totally spiritual and beyond material attractions, the body and the old world, we can then experience disinterest in the pomp and show of Kaliyug.

If we are following these basic things then we will find that all our powers will increase at the same time. We won’t need to work on the powers one at a time. We need all the powers. We need to use discrimination power to keep our mind clear. If I have ‘manmat’ in my own views and sanskaras then my link with Baba will not be clear. My impressions will be based on old sanskaras. My discerning power will be better when my mind is clear. Yoga is necessary to give me power. I must not just be churning gyan but practicing deeper yoga and seed stage. This will burn my old sanskaras and karma and give us strength.

30. In making efforts to deepen our faith in family, Baba and knowledge, have we ensured that our effort is deep enough?

Faith in Baba as my teacher means that I have faith that Baba is making me into a deity. But, if I am thinking, ‘Well Baba is telling us to become a deity but I don’t think I can do this’, this indicates that I am struggling. Without faith I will start to think it is impossible. This indicates that there is a lack of faith in self and Baba. Baba says, if you follow my directions you can become that. But when there isn’t faith you are thinking ‘How this is possible?’ With full faith I won’t worry about anything. So, where there is lack of faith this creates negativity of fear, insecurity, failure… I start to think that I can’t succeed.

Lack of faith in knowledge, means I think ‘Oh Baba says this, but science says that dinosaurs lived so long ago’. I wonder, ‘How can I tell what is true?’ I will develop doubt in Baba’s knowledge. Without full faith there is doubt. I will not experience happiness all the time because I won’t experience faith in my victory. We don’t have the faith that Baba is Karavanhar and is getting it done. So we feel pressured and heavy. I will be questioning and doubting, this will create the feeling of pressure and heaviness. To increase my faith in Baba, I have to develop more experience. The more we experience Baba’s help so our faith deepens. As we get Baba’s help in giving up old sanskaras and becoming victorious over different situations, so my faith increases. I will say, ‘Oh Baba helped’. Those who give up smoking say ‘Oh yes Baba has helped’. ‘That was impossible and now I am able to do it’. Then my faith in Baba and

Page 13: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

drama increases.

Faith in drama means that I can remain stable in different situations. With full faith in drama I will always think there is benefit, and I will not be asking, ‘Why are these people like this?’. ‘Why is this happening?’ Asking such questions means there is doubt, lack of faith in the drama. There isn’t that influence free, detached stage. Faith in self, Baba and knowledge means there will be stability, peace, lightness and happiness and faith in our victory.

Transformation of SanskarasDadi Janki - GRC - UK Teachers Retreat - 26th May 2001

Maintaining your chart Listening to God Moving according to the signals and directions of God Reaching a point of inner silence

The first step to transformation is to become free from 'I’ and ‘mine.' We have become trapped in the net of 'mine, mine, and mine.' We have old sanskaras and when we become trapped in the 'mine' of those sanskaras our purity and peace is disturbed. 'I' has become trapped in the 'mine' of sanskaras. It is this kind of impurity that doesn't allow me to have peace.

At the present time it is as if we are doing everything according to our mind and intellect. Sometimes the intellect is in conflict with others. At other times it is caught up in things. Sometimes it is subservient and at other times under pressure. Why does this happen to my intellect? Why is it not able to make the mind still and have elevated thoughts? Why does it not become concentrated and look at itself. It is because my old sanskaras are working. They don't allow me to use the mind and intellect properly.

First there are the sanskaras of the self then there are the sanskaras that have developed through my interactions with others. Baba now tells us the deep philosophy of karma. He says 'Hey soul, see what your sanskaras have become. Realise that you have accumulated so many sins. They can only be destroyed with power of yoga.' If I don't destroy them then either the physical senses, or the mind, will pull the soul to perform these actions again. This is dangerous for the soul. Such sanskaras have developed because the soul became body conscious and in doing so separated itself from the Supreme Soul.

Now that I have entered a relationship with God I have to become completely soul conscious and transform my sanskaras. Transformation in sanskaras will come later but before then I need to have the deep concern to completely destroy things of the past. What do I, as a child of God, want my sanskaras to become like? I want my sanskaras to become like those of God.

The mind won't be able to become still and stable if the physical senses are working. Of those the eyes are the most powerful and deceitful, looking here, there and everywhere. Baba tells the mind to explain to the eyes and ears. 'Hey ears and eyes just stop looking and listening here and there.' He is giving understanding to the intellect. 'If you want to remember me sit in solitude. Become introverted. Although the eyes and ears may be open just remain introverted.

After all you do want to change don't you? You do don't you?' God is asking you - 'do you want to change?' If you do then make a deep firm promise 'Yes Baba I do want to change.' We seem to forget that it is I that has to change. We start thinking that others need to change their sanskaras. Its as if while we are ready to take responsibility for their sanskaras to change but in the meanwhile we forget that we have to change ourselves.

Maintaining your chartBaba says maintain your chart. See how much you have to change. When it comes to changing others

Page 14: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

we say 'That one really has to change. They can't continue in this way.' But when it comes to changing our own sanskaras we say 'How can I change. How can I stop this? I have tried changing for so many years. And no one else seems to change.' We say 'It is because of so and so's sanskaras that I am experiencing difficulty, that my condition has become such.' This blaming of others becomes an excuse not to change the self. Giving excuses is also a sanskara that develops.

In order to change Baba gives us Shrimat at every step. He has told us that the dictates of our own minds will try to stop us from changing. The mind will constantly try to convince you. You may listen to the things God says but the mind won't allow you to accept them. We listen to and act according to the things that others, often those who we have karma with, tell us. And so we create further accounts rather than cutting away and settling our karmic bondages.

Listening to GodSo instead, let me sit peacefully and see who it is that I am listening to. If I listen to God I can become free from the pull of past karmic bondages. Then I am not dependent on any one. Nor is anyone dependent on me. Let me become completely free and independent in this way, so I can remember sweet Baba and take my inheritance of peace and happiness. I will only have this power to claim the inheritance when I have the power of purity inside.

The power of truth makes us pure, so never deceive yourself in any way. Use the power of truth so that the purity inside me increases. Let there be purity in my thoughts, words, actions. When, in every thought there is truth, purity, peace and love then, internally, the transformation of sanskaras will automatically take place. There will be the feeling that I don't want to touch old sanskaras, neither those of myself nor those of others.

If the impure atmosphere is able to affect me then my sanskaras aren't yet pure enough. Rather I should have the sanskara of changing impure into pure. My attitude and vision towards self and others should be so pure and powerful that it brings change. Others would change and let go of any old attitudes and vision that they may have for me. They should feel 'yes this one has changed.'

Moving according to the signals and directions of GodTo achieve this I have to make sure that my thoughts are moving according to the signals and directions of God. They should be peaceful, powerful and pure. When my thoughts are like this that in itself will bring about change. It will be as though I have invoked my new sanskaras to come. I will become more and more distant from my past, from the old sanskaras. It will be as if they have been left behind.

We can give away our mind, body and wealth but Baba will only accept our sacrifice when we become pure. If I just surrender everything to him without becoming pure He won't give me the return. It is easy to think or even say 'mind, body, wealth - everything is yours', but these things don't leave us so easily. In a subtle way we still hold on. The thought comes 'Well I ought to look after the body. I ought to keep a little wealth on one side. A time shouldn't come when I don't have anything and so I need to ask.'

Baba is only telling us to surrender the mind, body and wealth so that He can purify it and so that He can free us from our bondages. Our mind, body, wealth are all impure. What is Baba going to do with them? He doesn't need them. It is because we have been committing sin through the body, mind and wealth that He wants us to become free from them.

Baba says, focus your mind on Me and the mind will stop having sinful and wasteful thoughts. If you have wealth then there is a chance that you might waste it or people will chase after you to get it from you. If you use it in worthwhile way there won't be anything left for people to chase. Also you will have that inner happiness that you have accumulated for the future. When you use your body and time to do yagya service then other people won't pull you, saying do this and that for me. Otherwise your relations of karmic accounts will pull you. You may even be pulled by your own unfulfilled desires.

Page 15: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

Reaching a point of inner silenceGod is now teaching me how to create such good, beautiful sanskaras. When they become like this I will reach a point of silence. I just need to go into the depth of everything. Let me perform my actions and then go inside and become peaceful and quiet. Then when I come into action again I can do so in that same state of peace and silence. There is no need to come into sound. Use the knowledge that Baba has given you whilst performing actions. Perform the actions peacefully and remain a yogi.

To go into silence means to first of all be introverted, to have love for solitude and to increase the power of concentration. Then you will find that your original sanskaras are emerging and whatever Baba is reminding you of, you are becoming that form. Those who are talkative, whether it is internally or externally - such a soul cannot remain in silence. They will be pulled again and again to hear or see this, that and the other. They don't have the power to remain in silence.

I myself have to change myself. And this in fact, is happening. I can see it. The family too can see it and so are giving me good wishes. I should be able to see the godly family is pleased seeing my transformation. If I can't see this then let there be the deep feeling inside to make that little bit of extra remaining effort to change. I don't have any doubts in myself as to whether I am going to change or not. But I also have to make sure that others don't have any doubts about whether I will change or not.

Baba also reassures us. He says ‘Child you have been patient, you have continued to make effort with love and honesty, just continue in this way. It will happen. There will be victory.’ In order to bring about transformation I need to be patient and yet also pay a lot of attention. I want to become this. I want to change and I want to do it during these moments of the Confluence Age.Om Shanti

Rapid spiritual transformation BK Jagdish Chander (no date)

What can become a basis for our spiritual efforts? Taking responsibility is necessary for deep transformation Having dispassion for the world Sublimation: Using our sanskaras to help bring self-transformation Assessment of our efforts

Baba is saying we need to have the angelic and subtle stage and that we must transform ourselves. We need to attain the avyakt and incorporeal stages and practice volcanic remembrance. However, when we check our stage we find many things are lacking. So we need to ask, what should our approach and strategy must be so that we are satisfied with our spiritual effort. I will give a checklist. Baba says so many things in the murlis and I will summarize these. The first question is ‘What should our spiritual efforts be based on? What should we pay attention to?’

What can become a basis for our spiritual efforts?Baba often says that in order to improve our spiritual efforts and stage we should keep Baba’s example in front of us. We need to ask how he faced situations and how he tackled them to follow Baba. We need to follow Baba by having Baba’s life before us. Ask what Baba would do in particular situations. If instead, we follow our other brothers and sisters and they fall short, then we become slack, thinking that they have not transformed so neither can I.

Select good examples; we need to select good examples for ourselves if we are really interested in making rapid progress. It is best to keep before us the shining stars of the BK family about whom Baba talks. Some Brahmins say that when they first came, they had a good experience, but then when they saw the negative sanskaras of others in the divine family they stopped making full efforts. They thought, if after 25 years a brother still has the trait of anger, ‘How can I give this up?’ Whether others change or not, I have to change. We are the founding pillars of the golden aged world. We have to consider this to

Page 16: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

be our responsibility, not the others responsibility.

We need to have our goal clearly before us; we are the ones who have to change our mistakes or shortcomings. Together with this realization I have be determined, be resolved that I have to change. Whatever the problems, I have to reach my goal. For this, I need strong will power. Sometimes we can’t behave as Baba asks, there may be a little anger or other vices. However, don’t think this is just a small thing and that it doesn’t matter. It does matter. My goal is to go to the golden aged world, become a deity from a human being, a world sovereign, be dear and near to Baba. So I can’t say ‘it doesn’t matter’. It does matter.

Have deep love for Baba; deep love for Baba, service, way of life and divine qualities is necessary in order to bring transformation. For quick progress, the solution is to be absorbed in Baba’s love. Yoga is the greatest spiritual process that brings quick transformation in the self. What is yoga? Baba gives many different definitions. He says, yoga is a purposeful love link with God. We don’t just concentrate on God we dive deep into Baba’s love. Then only is there deep transformation. If you aren’t making progress you will find that your yoga link is weak. You are trying to stabilize the mind. You know what you are supposed to do. Why do you find it difficult? Some love is missing. It is essential to develop deeper love, and become completely absorbed in Baba’s love.

Silence is important. In meditation, our mind becomes quiet. We become detached from the body in silence. We need to practice this. Most of the time we tend to talk or listen. Our mind is talking, it is not silent. The mind is seeing images, talking to someone. If we cannot silence the mind we cannot meditate. One after another, things continue on the screen of the mind. The more we practice silence, sit alone, with no people or pictures in the mind, then we can sit in the soul world. We need to be in the world but away from the world. The more we practice silence during the day then it becomes possible to experience deep meditation this thenmakes the soul shine in its original form.

Speak less, speak sweet words. Otherwise again the quality of our yoga becomes less. Then we will not be satisfied.

Become the master of your original qualities. You are master knowledgeful, master peaceful, blissful, and master almighty, beloved children of Shiv Baba. As children of Shiv Baba, we can change from ordinary to extraordinary, worldly to divine. We need to have this other worldly awareness of the self. Although I am in this world, I am of another world. I am of another Father, the Father of the soul. I have these original qualities as an inheritance and these are my original qualities. I need to heighten my awareness of being the master. I have to strengthen this consciousness that I am a special person. With unmoving faith in Baba then I can have faith that I am a special person and a master of these original qualities of knowledge, peace, bliss and might.

Enjoy the drama. Life will go up and down. Some will praise you, others insult you, and others will deal with you roughly. Remember drama. All these situations will come back again. In drama, there are always surprises, struggles, and difficulties. Enjoy the drama; it is a game of gain and loss. The drama has to be this way. Let the drama be. Be a witness and enjoy the entertainment. A hero has to pass through all the dramas and tragedies. Only then is he declared a hero. Have this firm faith in drama, otherwise, there is depression, anxiety, and worry and our transformation cannot be rapid.

Focus and pay attention to divine qualities. Every situation has many possible solutions. You can be angry with someone or you can negotiate and enter an agreement. There are many alternatives to solve a problem. You should decide what you are going to do. Are you going to choose a solution that is divine or violent? Judge the quality of your solution? Are you going to be angry or harmonious and friendly? If you take up the second solution, you will need to develop the divine qualities of patience, tolerance, and non-violence. Baba has said to adopt the divine path, not just the end is divine, but the means needs to be divine.

Employ your power to judge and choose the divine way. Our attention needs to be on divine

Page 17: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

qualities. However, negative sanskaras from previous lives come in our mind. We may have the thought that if we don’t put pressure on someone it won’t be done. We may think, that this is Kaliyug, might is right. However, this is a waste and negative thought. Baba has asked us to stop this waste. I need to employ my power to judge, and choose the divine rather than the iron aged way. You may think success will come through violence but the problem will return. Vices cannot solve our problems rather they create greater problems. We may be able to put problems on the back burner but they are still there. Negative solutions complicate the situation. If we look at present world problems, we see that violence creates more violence. So have your attention on judging at situation correctly and using divine qualities to help solve problems.

Using the faculties of the soul to transform the selfThe soul has a mind, intellect, willpower, and memory. How can we use these faculties to transform quickly? Take the mind. Our mind needs to be clear not confused. Is there any confusion about the spiritual knowledge? Is the cycle clear to me? People say the world is billions of years old, and my predecessors are monkeys. I may be confused about the knowledge that we are descended from deities. What about the other points? We say the soul is in the head others say the soul is in the heart. Are our beliefs clear or are we confused?

Human behaviour is based on our beliefs. If I really understand, who is Baba, drama, my spiritual nature, my spiritual identity, then my progress will be very quick. I understand time is short and my sanskaras are of this type, then I cannot sleep. I will start working on it and try to attain it. But we are careless. If I know how much effort is required then I will make full efforts. Otherwise, I become careless. I need to be careful and cheerful. Therefore, there must be no confusion in my thoughts.

What about the intellect? Do we really understand? We say yes we understand. Why does Baba ask us? Baba is trikaldarshi. He knows that we still don’t really understand, so he says it again and again. There are many stages of understanding. If I really recognise and identify the problem, what am I expected to do? Have I decided what to do? What is my plan? If there is no plan then you have not decided. If you decide to go to Mt Abu then you need to book, plan… Otherwise you are still using the mind and just thinking about it. When you have understood clearly, then you can use the intellect to decide, and plan.

What about my will power and my desires? What kinds of desires do I have? Do I want to sightsee, visit places and persons to have fun? Do I buy fashionable clothes and things? What are my desires when I go to the market? Your attention is on your desires. These desires can take us away from our path. Instead, if we have attention on our divine desires then our progress is quick. With worldly desires our energy and time is wasted. We will not be able to concentrate the mind or have quality remembrance.

How can I retain things in my awareness? I might really understand something but then it slips from my memory. When I really need the information, I may have forgotten it. Retention of important things must be practiced. If you are a student in an exam, you need to remember the answers. We retain our thought of Shiv Baba. We practice remembering the points of the murli. But we must practice this, and then we can improve our ability. We remember we are children of the blissful and peaceful Father. Then the points of divine qualities and yoga can be very useful and will be there when we need them.

What about our sanskaras? Certain sanskaras can become a problem. To get a thorn out we need to push a needle in deeper to push out the thorn. We have sanskaras of vengeance, jealousy… To take these thorns out then the needle of knowledge has to go deeper than these sanskaras to push them out.

Our spirit of self-surrender needs to be stronger than our ego. Surrender everything to Baba; say Baba, it is yours. Then you will have complete humility.

Dedication should go deeper than attachment to body, relatives, money, property... If dedication is complete then we become ‘nashtamohar’, completely above attachment.

Concentration has to go deeper than the wanderings of the mind. Concentration has to be so deep that the mind will not run all over the place. Control of the mind should be deeper.

Purity has to be deeper than our impurity. Otherwise, a little impurity will be left. Good will has to be deeper than ill will. Everyone gets offended displeased by someone. Basic

to every spiritual path, is the need to feel good about others. We say most Beloved Father. Love everyone; love profoundly, love beyond nationality, beliefs, and lifestyle. That should be deep love based on the soul. We are all children of God, sisters and brothers.

Taking responsibility is necessary for deep transformationResponsibility helps us to move towards perfection. When you take responsibility, become instrumental for Baba’s service, then you will find that makes you make new plans, so your intellect begins to think positively. Taking responsibility for the self enables you to improve the self. You can inspire a person but if they do not want to change then God cannot help him. As you sow, so shall you reap. You have to take the benefit in the golden age, so you need to make the effort. If we do not think it is our responsibility, our efforts will be slack. People have to take responsibility for their own self-change, divine family, and centre. We have to bring world change, in nature, and the five elements. The more you take responsibility the more there is self-transformation.

Having dispassion for the worldWhen we pay attention to divine virtues, can we completely get rid of our negativity? During Confluence Age we make full efforts to eradicate these negative forces from the mind. Do we become completely free? We curb or suppress sanskaras but then they remain hidden and then return. However, we know that our sanskaras can change. A sanskara is created by us, so it can be changed by us.

Take hatred. First, there are desires, there is dislike, then there is hate, and then there is anger. If you don’t remove hatred then anger will come. If you don’t let go of desires you will still have anger. If someone stops us from fulfilling our desires, we become angry with someone. Our character can be divine but it can also be negative. We need to sublimate, redirect these tendencies.

This world is negative so now we need to have dispassion for this world. If there is a little bit of a feeling of hatred, the feeling that this world is bad, you can’t destroy that feeling. Basically it is a feeling of dislike. If you dislike strongly it becomes hatred. If you abhor something, you are totally against it. Therefore, the first step is like and dislike.

How can we develop dispassion (verag) for this world? If you dislike something strongly, then it becomes hatred. First, I say I like this, that... that becomes attachment. Then if I dislike something then that becomes hatred. Therefore, how can these sanskaras be changed. These tendencies or feelings can be changed. If we can change the development of the tendency of the feeling of liking and disliking then we can prevent the development of attachment and anger. Then we can bring transformation. Otherwise there are always two I’s within the self. When there is inner conflict, it is as if there are two people in one person. One says it is good, the other says the result will be bad so it is not good. There is a war in the mind, two voices instead of one.

The sense organs are like horses, the soul is the driver. The sanskaras ride upon the shoulders of the soul. The soul is driving the sense organs and the sanskaras are driving the soul. The sanskaras then take us in the wrong direction. Today you cannot know or rely on someone. In the golden age, what a person thinks he says. However, in Iron Age they say one thing and think something else. Someone may say they are charitable but the motive behind this is to get name and fame. Without changing these negative sanskaras, the soul will not be purified.

Sublimation: Using our sanskaras to help bring self-transformationTo become angels, incorporeal, floating and flying we need to be rid of the burden of past sanskaras. This is possible by sublimating our sanskaras and using them for a different purpose.

Fear: Take the example of fear. Telling lies may be because of fear of getting a bad name. I will do

Page 19: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

anything to save my name. I am prepared to spend money or lie. I have to sublimate this fear. Instead, Baba often says be afraid of dharam raj. You will be punished if you do not practice intense remembrance. If you have a fear of losing the respect of others, you will benefit. If I am afraid that if I do not make sincere efforts in the Confluence Age, then for 21 births, I will get a lower status. Having this kind of fear is useful. We should not have anxiety, but rather care and concern that we make sincere efforts at this crucial time. This will help us bring self-transformation.

Shame: We may be afraid of others shaming us. Everyone has a sense of shame. We try to be courteous, behave well to ensure our reputation will not be spoilt. To sublimate this, instead, we can be worried about the shame we will suffer from our divine family, this family of Baba, my divine family in the new world. What will they say if I eat impure food or behave badly and so on. Baba says to transform and sublimate this sanskara so it becomes useful in your Brahmin life. I can develop this kind of care and concern about my karmic accounts, that for 63 births I have been body conscious. I should have the concern to practice a way of life that will bring change.

Hatred: I have no enemies. Only the 5 vices are my enemies. To get rid of them I should use this sanskara of dislike. Instead, have dislike for the shudra, low way of living. See that this is the lowest form of life that encourages negative thinking and a destructive way of life. I should dislike the shudra way. This will help me sublimate the tendency to feel dislike and hatred.

Anger: Anger can lead to violence and an angry person can kill. Killing is finishing something. I should use this energy of anger to finish my own past bad sanskaras. Therefore, I need to have anger with my own bad qualities, not with myself, but with the negative quality within myself. Then I can use that energy and drive to finish the negative qualities off. This is how I can transform my anger.

Desire for name and fame: We may desire name and fame. If we don’t do service with complete detachment as a perfect instrument. Instead, I still desire name and fame. What will the divine family say if they see me being angry? I should avoid this. Use this sanskara to inspire you to protect your name and fame by doing good actions.

Ambition: Sometimes you may have a lot of ambition. So instead, let it be your ambition be to come into the 108 or 16,108.

Greed: Have greed for knowledge, study. Greed means more and more. Plan to do more and more service and creativity. Sublimate greed. Have greed to collect more and more divine qualities.

Dissatisfaction: I may be dissatisfied with others in the divine family. Be dissatisfied with your own qualities and stage rather than that of others.

MY: Habit of saying…my, my, my, instead becomes My Baba.

Jealousy: You may have jealousy; Baba says this is a race for the Golden Age. Who comes first? Have sweet jealousy and enter into the race for a best position in the Golden Age. Follow God’s rules and you will come first.

Desire for children: You may have a desire to create a family. Having children is an instinct. Baba says we are establishing a new world create new children for Baba. They are newly born. Put souls on the path of divine transformation. Baba procreates children. Instead of two or three, have one thousand children. Open centre after centre and you are will become the father or mother of 2,000 children.

Assessment of your effortsFinally, take note of the milestones on your path. Then you will know how far you have to go. Seeing your sanskaras assess your spiritual stage. How much time have you spent already and how much distance have you covered? Baba says time is short. If in 10 years we have not changed much, how much time will it take to change 30 sanskaras? We have to cover the distance quickly. Only by asking

Page 20: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

this question will we be able to realize how enormous the task is and how much we have to do and how much of our time is required. The knowledge and goal is very high. By realizing that our efforts do not match our goal, we can set new aims. Baba has said in recent murlis that the result is not satisfactory. We need to plan carefully with the understanding that more efforts are required on our part in order to bring deep transformation.

The Power of TransformationSr Denise Dec. 2006

Facing and transforming doubt in self and Baba using logic Using determination to bring success rather than setting yourself up for failure Understanding self transformation – morality versus ethics Preparing to develop the conscience Bringing transformation in a second – cutting the game of Maya Listening to other people’s opinions about you Becoming completely connected with the self – free of socialization and self doubt The dangers of guilt and arrogance Hearing the voice of conscience

Let us go into what Baba really means by transformation and determination. Let us look at our situation and ourselves from different angles. By looking from another perspective, we can see the situation differently.

What does Baba mean by the power of transformation? We are assigned by Baba to transform the world. Sometimes our problem is simply one of doubt. We think it can’t be done. We look at our record and ourselves and see one or two sanskaras that are tough and don’t appear to be changing. So then, we think that we probably have a couple of hundred sanskaras like that so then we think it can’t be done. However, if we couldn’t do it then we wouldn’t have been hired. Baba hired us and he isn’t an idiot. He knows what he is doing and has been doing it for zillions of kalpas. The kalpa is repeating identically.

By developing an analytical point of view, we can help set aside our doubts. When I use my sense perceptions, I the soul look at myself and have doubt in my ability to transform. However, this sense perception of ourselves is deceptive. The senses are deceptive; the senses can tell us about the everyday world but are useless in telling us about cosmic things. Is world transformation a cosmic or an everyday idea? On an everyday basis, world transformation is one hundred percent not possible. It is a cosmic idea. Therefore, we need to use our powers of analysis to distinguish between the everyday realities of ordinary BK ways and the amazing and cosmic reality; I the soul helped in world transformation last kalpa and help Baba every kalpa.

Even if you doubt that this is true, after coming to Baba is it possible to hand in your resignation? No, there is no chance. However, if you stop making efforts you can be fined because you didn’t complete your settlement of your karmic accounts. This means that you will become pure by having extreme and severe pain, but your karmic accounts are still settled. By shifting into your cosmic mode, you begin to understand that by using the power of tolerance, extreme pain is another doorway to liberation. Sense perception is only a part of reality. Then when we move beyond pain, we move out of the mundane reality of everyday sense perceptions, beyond. Then we can begin to use our third eye, our knowledge of the cycle, divine intellect and then our thinking processes become different.

Facing and transforming doubt in self and Baba using logicThe biggest problem we face is doubt. Doubt cannot co-exist with the logic of truth. We know that what Baba says is true. Would He say something false and still be Baba? He says you are hired to individually, and collectively, bring world transformation even in spite of your doubts, and yourselves; ‘It is done’ and ‘It will be done’. We are instruments and Baba uses us to bring transformation. Would a

Page 21: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

violin of Izaac Pearlman say, ‘You can’t play me’? We are instruments for Baba and Baba is playing us as the instruments of world transformation. As world transformers, we transform ourselves as well as the world.

Take the story about Hanuman. Hanuman is the symbol of Brahma Baba, the same as Mahavir, the great warrior. Hanuman is the monkey god. The monkey has to loose the tail, the ‘I’ of body consciousness to become a god. Hanuman was condemned to be an ordinary monkey, unaware of his powers, until he met Ram. Then he would remember his powers and then he could rescue Sita and while doing this he would burn off his tail. This ‘I’, the tail of Hanuman, the tail of the false ego is what creates the doubt. It keeps us in an ordinary state of consciousness. It stops us from rescuing others and ourselves from Maya. When we perceive Baba and ourselves in that mundane, ordinary way, it is as if we haven’t met Baba. We are unconscious of our powers; we don’t know we have powers.

We need to become aware of what and who we are. Have you ever said, ‘I don’t know who I am’? If someone else says this, do you think, I also say that? Baba tells us everyday who we are, but we doubt. We doubt because we evaluate ourselves using our sense perceptions, scientifically. Science is based on the five senses. However, when we come away from using the senses, we have to use maths and logic to sort out our reality. These faculties of logic are not dependent on sense perception and are useful to understand the subtle and bodiless aspects of our world. Using logic, we can come to understand that theoretically anything is possible.

Development of faith in self and Baba is possible with a clear analysis of the knowledge. Baba certifies that we have love for Baba. But how many of you feel that you have intense love for Baba, 24 hours a day? This is not possible because you would have left the body by now. There are moments of feeling deep love for Baba. Even if you feel it for a micro second that means it is there. It only takes a moment to recognize. These are peak moments. Most of the time we stay in everyday reality of knowing Baba is there. We need to know that we have that deep love. So, although most of the time we are thinking in an ordinary way, we are still in partnership and are actually transforming the world with Baba.

This knowing can extinguish the development of doubt. The experience of doubt is a factor of body consciousness. Body consciousness comes when there is a feeling of not knowing, ‘ pata nehi’. I don’t know if I will make it, if I am one of 108, if I take 84 births. This is doubt. Theoretically, you know very well that Baba says we are golden aged sovereigns. Is Baba going to say one thing that is true and other things that are untrue? Baba may say some things that are true and some things that you can’t figure out. He won’t tell you some things that are true and others that are untrue.

Using determination to bring success rather than setting yourself up for failureHaving an idea of perfection can become a set up for failure. You create a scenario in your mind where you are 100 percent bound to fail in becoming perfect. It becomes easy to prove to yourself that you are an ordinary human being. Baba says be constantly in my remembrance. If I am thinking that OK, constant remembrance means I have to be experiencing this and this and when I don’t have all of these I am a failure. I have set myself up for failure.

To move on from this set up we have to observe ourselves, not from a sense perspective but from a perspective of understanding. So then, you can create a set up for success. This is called using the power of determination. If Baba says the truth, and he says I am a world transformer, then that also means that I can transform myself. So what does transformation of the self mean? We need then to understand self-transformation.

Understanding self transformation – morality versus ethicsTo bring self-transformation we have to have a very refined conscience. Then we can notice when we do something that isn’t right. We also have to notice to what extent we want to do the right thing. Baba said in a murli, we still like Maya. There still is an inner compulsion for things; we are not yet ready to give some things up. There isn’t yet the clarity that this is correct.

Page 22: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

Why is this? There are two things, morality and ethics. These are very different but often people make no distinction between these. However, in the value education program we say that morality is what people decide. Ethics doesn’t vary; this is not decided by a majority. A majority can decide that something is morally right. Many things are morally right but this does not mean it is ethically right.

Ethics are much less common than morality. This is because it is difficult to reason ethically and it is difficult to function from your conscience. Your conscience is a very important instrument. It acts like a sensor so you can know that something is right or wrong. This right and wrong has nothing to do with what the moral majority says but rather is like a sensor that lets you know if something is right or not. It is very subtle.

When you have waste thoughts or doubt or don’t think highly of the self, then the sensor stops functioning and then you have to rely on externally developed morals. External morals are very unreliable as a guide to the best way to bring self transformation. For this the inner sensor of the conscience is a very important instrument to develop.

Preparing to develop the conscienceOne of the most important preparations for the development of the conscience is having the realization that Baba is not concerned about whether you are good or bad. Baba simply gives the mantra that we must forget our body, bodily relations, and bodily religion and remember me. What this means is that you must disconnect yourself from your socialization. That means you need to disconnect from your upbringing, your parents, your teachers and religious leaders. They will give you morality but they won’t give you ethics. It is very useful to distinguish between these two. This allows us to drop things that were actually given to us in good faith. Moral guidance was given in the belief that this would be good for our lives. However, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real.

The last murli of last season of 2005 to 2006, Baba said, please stop being occupied with right and wrong. Do you remember that? Right and wrong is morality. We need to ask ourselves who is saying what is right and wrong, on what basis and with what intention. Such opinions of right and wrong that come from the outside are known as ‘parmat’. There are three things ‘srimat’, ‘manmat’ and ‘parmat’. Dadi Janki describes ‘manmat’ and ‘parmat’ as being the same. You are told what is moral by outside authorities, parents, teachers, authorities the major influencers in our lives. This is commonly called morality, and is what we Brahmins call ‘parmat’.

‘Srimat’ is very different from what the rest of the world thinks is right and wrong. For example, Baba says, ‘See only the virtues in people’. No morality says that. They say; if it is right, think it is right, if it is wrong, think it is wrong. You are trained to be judgemental. Then you get confused, you don’t know what to do and then you can’t think, you have to listen to outside directions to know what to do.

Sometimes Baba asks in the murli, is what Baba says right or is the world right? If I am having a problem with Maya, does that mean I am bad? No it doesn’t. If you are having a problem with Maya, it means that drama wants you to become strong in a new area. Each of us has something that is their challenge. It may be social anxiety, status anxiety, lust, greed, some form of doubt. It is important to identify the one negative emotion that stops me from being aware that I am a world transformer.

Some people think they are alone. When you have such negative emotions, you think you are alone and no one is caring about you, you are stuck in your sense perceptions and you lose the help of Baba’s knowledge. It is in such situations that we become influenced by our sense perceptions and then our perceptions become influenced by the external realities. Maya, the external illusions of reality, deceive us.

Bringing transformation in a second – cutting the game of MayaWe need determination to be free of the influence of our body conscious perceptions. The game is of a second. Baba says Maya will come to you until the end, relentlessly and conscientiously. It will come

Page 23: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

and you will have one second in which to tell it to get out, to apply your inner vision that says this is fake, irrelevant, unreal, and old. That requires inner power and force and this inner force is called determination.

When the mind is producing thoughts at amrit vela have the determination to keep the mind focused. Then you will be able to observe when the mind goes off track, when you are no longer taking from Baba. These pre-occupations that come into the mind, allow Maya to enter in the form of a negative emotion. There may be the feeling of attraction to things or people. If you are attracted to a person, it is either to their body or to their attributes. As soon as there is an attraction, you are cut off from the awareness of Baba. Did you notice? How long does it take for you to notice? Then what do you do? Do you announce to yourself that you have failed?

Do you indulge in this attractive thought for a while and then think; oh, I’d better not do this any more and then find it difficult to get back. Or, do you just cut it the moment you notice it? The moment you notice it cut it, don’t allow yourself to indulge in it. If you allow yourself to indulge in it for half a second, then the moment you notice cut it.

This act of cutting it is a method by which your conscience is learning to function. In the past it stopped functioning because you bypassed it. Everybody has a conscience. Everyone knows what is right and wrong. You don’t need others to tell you because you already know. Does anyone not know? But there is hesitation and doubt. You don’t trust yourself, because there is so much training to trust external information, or informers and to doubt the self. This is the influence of morality.

Listening to other people’s opinions about youYou have certain preferences in life and someone comes and tells you that your action is body conscious. Have you experienced that? Then you have doubt. When someone else’s opinion causes doubt then that reduces your power of determination. When someone comments about you, they may say that eating tomatoes is body conscious. You have one second to evaluate. ‘What is going on?’. If you are doing something, you would know very well if it was body conscious. In your considered opinion, is it body conscious to eat tomatoes? Do you take it in or immediately say they don’t know what they are talking about?

Certain comments people make are specially designed to make you doubt yourself. This is a common pursuit amongst human beings, a test. Respond by saying ‘You are entitled to your opinion, but it is not my opinion’. You maintain your considered opinion of what is right. This gives functionality to your conscience. If someone says something that is true, your response will be different. It will be as if a light goes on. You will say, yes this is right. You don’t experience doubt in the self but rather there is an immediate and instant recognition. As soon as we get it, yes, this is right, and then you accept and apply it. By working in this way your conscience becomes more refined and your determination increases in strength.

Someone may tell you something that will bring you under their influence. It is a common perception that either others are under your influence or you are under someone else’s influence. When Baba talks about ‘jeevan mukti’ he is talking about the freedom of being under the exclusive influence of Baba, freedom from the influence of any human being. We have to be polite, nice and have good wishes but not come under someone else’s influence. The moment you are under another’s influence, you go into self-doubt. That is the problem. When you are under an influence, it is easy for you to take sorrow. Under their influence, you want them to approve in what you do. You have come away from your self-respect.

The refined and purified conscience is a reference point. This is able to become like that because you follow ‘srimat’. When you follow ‘srimat’ you do correct action. ‘Srimat’ is to become soul conscious and do correct actions founded on love, peace, inner power, purity and bliss. Bliss not happiness, because rather like morality and ethics, morality is man made, ethics is naturally correct. Happiness is produced by our pure actions, whereas bliss is just there as an original quality of the soul. When Shiv Baba says I

Page 24: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

am ‘ananda swarupam’ he is saying that I am in a state of bliss. This state of bliss is there anyway in the soul when I am soul conscious.

Becoming completely connected with the self – free of socialization and self doubtUntil we are completely connected with ourselves we cannot be completely connected with Baba. When we are under someone’s influence we are disconnected from ourselves. Others pull us away from the track of ‘srimat’. The influence comes because of desire, attraction or fear. Somebody can force us to do something that isn’t right. Socialization is a big thing. We are trained by religious leaders to be polite. It is not polite to prevent someone from bringing you under their influence. You have to be so careful to maintain your independence without antagonizing people. This is known in India as a saying, it called killing the snake without breaking the stick.

Some people have doubt in themselves because they are so good at being polite and nice that they think that they are being false. Don’t you sometimes feel you are a fake because you are so good at being yukti yukt. This can also lead to self-doubt. Nevertheless, if you have self respect you know that you have the power of discrimination, you know that this is what I am and these are my yuktis. Other people may get confused about you but this is not your problem. It is good to have good yuktis. The danger is that instead of coming under another’s influence we fall in love with our own techniques and clever approach. This is narcissism; we can also lose connection with ourselves in this way also.

It is important to always keep the self separate from what is going on. You have to react to it very dispassionately in a detached way. Baba gives us the direction to make something true, to have a firm and determined direction. Baba says, people try to limit your freedom. You have to free yourself through a pure determined thought. This is who I am. This is what I do, if you don’t like it too bad. This determination for freedom has to be without emotion.

The dangers of guilt and arroganceYou have a right to wake up early, go to class, to meditate, to remain single, to buy what you want.. If someone objects and try to persuade you by making you feel guilty, you have to analyze the basis of their objection. If you find that it is selfishness, then you must be clear on that. This person is trying to take advantage for selfish reasons. Be clear and determined and give the answer, no. Don’t argue and say no because… If you argue, they will argue with you. We have to move away from excuses or reasons. Yes or no. Without enough faith in the self then you use because…

Be clear on what and who you are, you are an instrument, ‘nimit’. Make it clear for self and others that I am an instrument for Baba and this is how I operate and if you don’t like it then that is too bad. However, if you say ‘I am an instrument’, in an arrogant way, then it won’t work. Then arrogance or anger is being used to substitute for the power of truth.

People will gradually get used to you as an instrument. Just be humble and pure, speak without reacting, without anger or arrogance. When we are defensive, it just doesn’t succeed. We have to be so soft. Just let others know that this is the way it is and full stop.

Whatever anybody says, whether it comes from outside or our own internalized morality, what we have been taught by teachers, parents and religious leaders, put a full stop. That internal moral voice, the body conscious intellect thinks that morality has greater value than the truth. If you try to go against morality then people will try to make you feel guilty.

Hearing the voice of conscienceThe more there is bodilessness and yoga, the more there is the power to hear the voice of conscience and follow it. Then it becomes clear, easier to understand what is moral, and what is not ethical. At that point, we can say thanks for the others advice and care but let them know that I am still going another way. When our clarity disappears, instead of being with Baba you are with Maya. Because of the dominance of sense perceptions in us then people can then pull you back under the influence of social morality.

Page 25: Topic One: Power of Transformation upload to the... · Web viewHowever, once you realize that would like you to be neutral about good and bad, then you can get on with being real

It is good in Brahmin life to be able to be alone. If you are comfortable being alone, then whatever people’s reactions are to you, it doesn’t make any difference to your stage. If your sense of self depends on how others treat you then you will feel neither detached nor with Baba.

The moment situations and influences try to pull you towards Maya it becomes a test of your power of determination. You have only a second to make the correct decision that will keep you from being pulled away towards Maya. The more clearly you identify with being a pure, peaceful, powerful, loveful and blissful soul; this gives you the power of discernment at that time. The conscience gives the message; hey you are going off track. Of course, you won’t feel the result of being off track until you go off track. At that point, of there being a negative influence you will feel a slight flutter, a slight feeling anxiety. We need to recognize that warning signal and use that second to change direction internally and re-position our sense of self in more soul conscious manner.

When you do something that is totally away from that self-aware stage, totally off track and wrong, you have to tell yourself it doesn’t matter. Otherwise, you can spend a long time feeling bad about yourself. Then that becomes more of a problem than what you actually did. Doing the wrong thing takes just a moment. However, feeling bad can go on for a long time. Time taken in feeling bad drains your energy. So if you do something wrong, catch yourself. Remind yourself that this is a sanskar presenting itself, it is an opportunity, a challenge, and should be dealt with that way. Negative emotions of guilt, embarrassment, feeling bad are not helpful in meeting that challenge. What is helpful is to get back into that sense of inner connectedness and become powerful.

If Baba says I will love you more if you do service, he isn’t being moralistic, but rather he is guiding you and speaking about his feelings for you. Baba is letting us know that if you want to experience closeness and connection with Baba service is the way to do it. However, the power of morality can affect your ability to hear what he says. It can make you judge Baba based on man-made morality. That makes the process of using our conscience very subtle and very tricky. If we are in contact with our conscience, it can let us know when we are on or off track. However sometimes our decision is made by our ego rather than our conscience. The key to the problem is to identify the ego for what it is.
