A few times a day notice how loving and kindyou are being in that moment. 2. Mantra “The world is not going to end just because the year is…” Am I trying to… tie up work, fix the house/ yard, attend to family needs, visit friends, buy presents… all in the final few weeks of the year? What can be ‘removed, reduced or recycled’ from the list? 3. Pay it forward This is the time of year to see all of humanity as family. Give to others in need. 4. Conscious Christmas – Am I rushing around the department store or stopping to notice a child’s glee at seeing Santa? 5. A normal family This is the perfect time of year to acknowledge we are all a little crazyand our family is no whackier than the next. Remember it helps to practice forgiveness and tolerance. 6. Indulge your senses – This is not the month to try a new diet. Experience food with all your senses: smell, taste, touch etc. You will enjoy it more and eat what your body needs. 7. Remember the oxygen mask goes on you first then help others. Look after yourself in tiny ways e.g. Stop, close your eyes and breathe. Try the mantra relaxor all will be wellon the out breath. 8. Mistakes happen – It’s normal to mess things up at this time of year – the wrong or forgotten present, prawns not picked up, salad dressing missing? Forgive yourself. 9. Presents vs. Presence Ticking off the task list or really being withthe people you love. At your festivities, take a moment to look around and appreciate what you see. 10. As the Indian proverb says – It will all be all right in the end, and if it’s not all right, it’s not the end!
