Top Ten steps for successful process validation, Antoine Little, Energizer. Top Ten factors for meaningful product stability testing, Steve Tait, Pair of Docs. Top Ten details for purchasing new filling equip- ment, Doug Beardsworth, Beardsworth & Assoc. Top Ten steps to a successful facilities safety pro- gram, Mark Rivers, Aeropres Corp. The DOT representatives offered a comprehen- sive view of Hazardous Materials Regulations including a discussion of non-compliance issues that typically relate to aerosols. Daniel Levine, President, Product Safety Solutions, introduced specifics about the new Safety Data Sheet that will soon replace the current MSDS. Doug Fratz, VP, Scientific & Technical Affairs, CSPA presented Global Harmonization issues coming to the U.S. from Europe and how they will affect aerosol products. Eileen Moyer, Moyer Regulatory Strat- egies, provided a syn- opsis of the regulatory landscape and warned Murray (continued on page 2)

that industry needs to keep outside pres-sures in mind and not dismiss the power of the NGO community or public perception, but rather, take proactive steps to reduce or eliminate chemicals that could be im-pacted by public policy. Queshia Bradley, ACE outlined ACE’s Active Program Areas and announced the collaboration with the Major League Baseball team The Minnesota Twins in a Strike Out Inhalant Abuse Program. Lastly, there was a visit by Mr. Sunscreen, an industry mascot used during the regional Minor League Baseball initiatives.

Moyer

In Memorium - EAA recently lost two members who were long time industry associates.

Al Pellini died on June 14 doing what he loved best, fishing on Cut-tyhunk Island, off the Massachusetts coast. He started his career with Continental Can and then moved on to become Senior VP Sales & Marketing of Advanced Monobloc, a part of CCL Industries. Al served as Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) Chairman in 1991 and as a member of the CSPA Board of Directors from 1984-1992. He was also CSPA Aerosol Products Division Chair from 1984-1985. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Michael, daughter Lynn and four grand-children.

Joe Iapelli passed away on May 24. He began his career with Precision Valve where he worked in the laboratory for 17 years before transition-ing into sales. He joined Monobloc USA in 1987, shortly before it was acquired by CCL Industries. At the time of his death, he was employed by American Spraytech. Joe leaves behind two daughters and his wife Lanie.
