Prepreg - Advanced Composite Materials
Prepreg-ACM production facilities in Russia in
Moscow and Moscow Region (city of Dubna)
produce a variety of carbon fiber based fabrics:
unidirectional, balanced, aesthetic, non-woven
materials, multiaxial and prepregs. All materials
are manufactured by Prepreg-ACM in accordance
with its written and published data. The fabrics
production has 3 weaving looms (500 tpa capacity)
and unidirectional spreading machine (500 tpa
capacity); multiaxial machine (1000 tpa capacity);
prepreg unit (3000 tpa capacity). Our products are
manufactured under quality management system
ISO 9001. Prepreg-ACM obtained Type Approval
Certificates issued by DNV-GL approving quality
level for marine applications. DNV-GL certified basic
carbon and hybrid (with glass fiber) multiaxial fabrics.
Our production has Inter-State Aviation Committee
(IAC) Certificate No. OPM-24/1 dated June 20, 2011
in respect of approval of the production of aircraft
materials.

UD fabrics – textile structures where carbon fiber is oriented in one direction. Due to such fiber orientation UD fabrics, being a part of polymeric composite materials, demonstrate optimized operational properties to bear single direction loads.
Balanced Fabrics – textile structures where carbon fibers are oriented transversally. Used in polymeric composite materials, balanced fabrics are resistant to most of aggressive chemicals, have high strength characteristics, low coefficient of thermal expansion, and low weight.
Multiaxials - textile structures where carbon fibre is oriented in multiple directions. As compared with conventional CF fabrics and tapes, multiaxial fabrics demonstrate better deflection, compression, and tensile test results, as well as better mechanical properties of fluctuating load resistance. Stitching together several layers of fibre improves the product mechanical properties, makes the product lighter, allows for using less resin and makes the manufacturing process more technology-savvy. As a rule, multiaxial fabrics are used in complex composite structures.

Prepregs - intermediate composite materials. Prepregs are obtained by impregnation of reinforcing fibrous base with evenly distributed polymer resin systems. Impregnation method used ensures achieving maximum physical and chemical properties of reinforcing material. Fibre impregnation improves material quality by 30%.
Top resin systems:
HCP 1208 resin system
HCP 1208 is an epoxy matrix especially developed for aesthetic applications, with excellent transparency and flexible curing cycle. Cured composite parts have a transparent and defect free surface finish. Further, composites parts do not develop coloured areas upon storage or exposure to stress conditions.
Main characteristics
• Flexible curing cycle: 80°C – 140°C;• Maximum service temperature of 110°C;• Solvent free;• Autoclave, press and vacuum bag processing;• Excellent tack and drape;• Tack life up to 45 days at room temperature.
HCP 1209 resin system
HCP 1209 is toughened hot-melt epoxy matrix especially developed for structural applications with good balance of mechanical properties and improved resistance to microcracking. Suitable to impregnate a wide range of reinforcements (UD, fabrics and multi-axial – carbon, glass).
Main characteristics
• НСР 1209 is a hot melt type resin system;• Excellent values of interlaminar fracture toughness;• Maximum service temperature of 117°C;• Solvent free;• Autoclave, press and vacuum bag processing;• Good surface finishes possible;• Controlled flow;• Tack life up to 30 days at room temperature.
