The 2017 revision of API RP14F will impose a 20% ampacity derating on non-potted power loops, which means conductor sizing for existing non potted power loops may not be adequate. The new revision also states service loops must be “uniformly twisted.” Therefore, straight-pulled power loops will not be recommended for use.

NATURAL CENTERING OF CONDUCTORS

AmerLink’s manufacturing process produces natural centering of conductors within the loop, which balances stress on the components. Hose-encased potted-loops have off-center cores, which puts increased stress on components during bending cycles.

Service loops are completed at our 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. Bundles are inserted in hoses and fully potted (non-potted also available). Our highly experienced technicians add couplers/ connectors as specified, then each loop is computer tested and packaged in weatherproof containers.
