TOP 3 DESSERTS FOR PICKY EATERS Desserts can be viewed from a broader perspective to include all foods that are naturally sweet. Rather than offering candy, cookies and packaged cakes that are rich in carbohydrates and calories but provide little nutrition, choose high quality sweets. High quality sweets will contain small amounts of naturally occurring sugars, along with other beneficial nutrients. Naturally sweet foods will satisfy your children's naturally sweet tooth. And, it is an alternative that you, as a parent, can feel good about. Here are 3 of my favorite naturally sweet desserts: 1. DARK CHOCOLATE - Perfect for chocolate lovers like myself, dark chocolate is loaded with natural antioxidants and minerals. This is because chocolate comes from cacao beans, grown on the cacao tree, and full of natural plant nutrients. Choose 2-3 squares (not the whole bar) of 85% - 99% cacao. The higher the percentage of cacao, the more bitter the chocolate will taste.

TOP 3 DESSERTS FOR PICKY EATERSDesserts can be viewed from a broader perspective to include all foods that are naturally sweet.

Here are 3 of my favorite naturally sweet desserts:

2. BERRIES SORBET - Blend 1 cup strawberries, 1 cup frozen pineapple, 6 ounces of coconut milk and 1 very ripe banana using a blender. Children love that this is pink! I love the many health benefits to berries. One cup of strawberries contains a whole day's requirement of vitamin C, plus other vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Serve in a small bowl.

3. ALMOND "MILK"SHAKE - Combine 1 overflowing cup of raw almonds with 16 oz water, 2 tsp vanilla, 2 tbsp unsweetened, shredded coconut, 6 dates, 1 tbsp of chia seeds, and ice to taste. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. The chia seeds create a milky, "milk" shake consistency.
