If Toolkit does not install correctly, repeat steps 2 to 9; if Toolkit still does not install correctly, contact MYLAPS.

10 Check that Toolkit starts correctly with its initial startup screen.

For a step-by-step description on using Toolkit, refer to section 4 Operation.

NOTE: If you use a MYLAPS ChipScanner or a USB-RS485 converter, make sure proper drivers are installed separately - they are not yet included in the installation package.

    3.2 Uninstall Toolkit

1 Go to Start > all programs and click on MYLAPS > TOOLKIT > UNINSTALL TOOLKIT.

2 On the next screen, choose YES to remove Toolkit.

3 Wait until the uninstall process is completed.

4.1 Basic functionsAfter starting Toolkit (see 4.2 Start), there are five basic operatingsteps - see Figure 4.1. These steps are described sequentially in the remainder of this Operation section.

    Figure 4.1 Operation steps

The very first time that you start up Toolkit, youmay need to setupvariouspreferencestotuneToolkitforyourspecificsetup-thesepreferences are described in section 4.2.1 First time startup.

Other features are available to change the Toolkit user interface or to adapt race settings - see section 4.8 Extra features.

Once you have read through this Operation section, refer to section 5 Practical example for a step-by-step example procedure for setting up and running Toolkit. 4.2 Start When starting up Toolkit, the following screen appears:

    Figure 4.2 Startup screen

  • 9Choose here:START A NEW RACE - to setup Toolkit for a new raceLOAD ANOTHER RACE - to view, edit or export a previously saved raceintoToolkit(thisracemustbeavailableonalocalornetworkdrive)REPLAY SAVED RACE - to view, edit or export a race that was saved with Toolkit

If you choose START A NEW RACE, you will be asked to assign details for the new race - see section 4.3 Create Race.

If you choose REPLAY SAVED RACE or LOAD ANOTHER RACE, the race dataisalreadyconfiguredandyouwilldirectlyenterthemainToolkitscreen for that race - see section 4.4 Add Location.

NOTE: Choosing a saved race here is useful if you wish to use the oldsettingstoquicklyconfigureanewracethathassimilarlocations, devices and/or exporters.

4.2.1 First time startupBefore running Toolkit for the first time, you may need to assignvarious preferences to suit your local setup. Access the preferences menu from the top menu with FILE > PREFERENCES... - the following screen appears:

4.2.1.2 CCNetServer PreferencesAssign here the login details if you choose for a connection with CCNetServer.

For example, European users can use the server addresses as shown in the example screen; users in North and South America can connect to:

    Server 1: usa1.championchip.netServer 2: usa2.championchip.netServer 3: usa3.championchip.netServer 4: usa4.championchip.net

If required, contact MyLaps for your appropriate server settings and login password.

4.2.1.3 Scanner PreferencesAssign or enable the correct scanners for your system. Important considerations here are:

Some com ports may be in use by other applications; this can affect the correct scanning function in Toolkit. Only enable here the ports used by MYLAPS devices. Always use the baudrate similar to the baudrate on your device. If using an ethernet connection, enable the correct networks device.

    5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Troubleshooting principlesThis section offers information for troubleshooting operating problems with Toolkit. However, it is not a substitute for a thorough knowledge of Toolkit and its related systems.

If you encounter a problem that is not covered, or is not corrected by the suggested remedy, please contactMyLapsSupport for qualifiedtechnical guidance on how to proceed further. Contact details for MyLaps are provided on the last page of this manual.

The troubleshooting table is divided into problem symptoms and their possible causes, plus a suggested remedy. Always review the complete list of possible causes for each problem before selecting which remedy to apply. Problems with an obvious cause and remedy are not included in this table. However, if you encounter a problem that you feel should be included, please notify MYLAPS Support and supply the following information:

The problemThe possible causes you consideredThe remedy/remedies you applied

To help track a problem and its cause, Toolkit has a log register to chronologically trace events. The log register is accessed by pressing the menu entry action > Log browser.
