Session 1D: People Management and Knowledge Transfer
Wednesday, October 20 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM This session addresses the demographic issues facing the industry as new process
engineers are brought in to replace the aging workforce that is retiring from many plants. The issues address the problems associated with transferring many years of experience to the new process engineers, who in many ways speak an entirely different language and are motivated by different factors that can make management and knowledge transfer difficult. The changing economic environment has also led to a smaller workforce, different work functions being outsourced and changing attitudes and motivations in the people we work with everyday. This session attempts to bring understanding to the changing environment and how we can effectively work with people in this day and age.
