euroforum:communication 2004

Be a part of new European success – realize the opportunities!

On 1 May 2004, the market of common New Europe will cover more than 500 million consumers. An enormous challenge and a big chance for the communications and advertising industry. Now it is important to use the chance and more over to use these unique opportunities together, without borders. The euroforum:communica-tion-platform is an important tool of information exchange, get-together and co-operate in new Europe.

The communications industry pre-opens the borders of New Europe one month before the european enlarge-ment takes place. On 31 March and 1 April 2004 the Professional Association of Advertising Industry and Market Communication presents the advertising industry and the creative work of the countries of New Europe in a multicoloured “Kaleidoscope” and invites to discussions with the representatives. euroforum:communication shows the dazzling creativity of our new region as basis for future work, with the sup-port of numerous sponsors and partners. Introduced by the creative speaker, who has been working successfully in probably almost all European countries and therefore has become a symbol of the advertising industry in New Europe: Jacques Séquéla.

The “afterwork-session” focuses on recent concepts and campaigns which give suggestions for new ways in New Europe. Introduced by Michael Conrad and completed by Andy Cameron, the Creative Director of Benetton’s Fabrica, and his students. This Session opens a new platform of get-together between young people of advertising industry of Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Austria.A unique chance for you to travel a creative round trip in one afternoon and one evening through New Europe: Y.C.C.project!

Advertising and creativity needs freedom! But in the European Union a lot of regulations and bans on advertising are discussed. Information is headstart - euroforum:communication presents fi rst-hand-information about the upcoming re-strictions and informs with high-ranking representatives of European organizations what the communication and advertising industry can expect and which ways will still be open. The broad discussion of sustainability and social responsibility off ers enterprises the chance to establish new image values.

With these meetings, using the euroforum:communication as a basis, the Austrian advertising economy is setting a clear sign towards a new Europe. We are opening the borders into a new age of communication - together.

Make the chance come true – be a part of the success!

Speakers & Statements

JACQUES SÉGUÉLA, Executive Vice-President, Chief Creative Officer, HAVAS AdvertisingA Ph.D. in pharmacy, this energetic hands-on manager became a reporter for Paris Match and then for France Soir, after having fi rst travelled around the world in a Citroën 2CV. At age 32 he joined with Bernard Roux, Alain Cayzac and Jean-Michel Goudard to create RSCG, which merged with Eurocom in 1991. Visionary and a tireless creator, author of some fi fteen books on his trade, inventor of numerous political campaigns in France and abroad, Jacques Séguéla is Havas’ Vice President, Chief Creative Offi cer.The fi rst age of advertising was merely persuasion, the second seduction, and now we are entering the prime of life, the age of integration. No creative idea will fi nd house-room unless it is capable of boosting with the same force of imagination an ad, a poster, a commercial, an event, a promotion, a mail shot. A chain reaction will be created in which the activation of each new connecting nucleus will release a surplus of energy. In this giant cyclotron, creation becomes inter-reaction. The important thing is not to create in parts but as a whole. And who is better placed to do this but our group, focused on integration and concentrating all the disciplines of communication, once disparate, now convergent. Our whole creative ambition is to bring together the multiplication of communicating signs into a unique dreamspace of the brand. Once we were the inventors of scattered dreams, now we are the federators of multiple realities but also, and more than ever, each of us in our own task, soldiers of the imagination. For any form of creativity will prove inert and thus inteff ectual unless, in a two-way process, it forces the consumer’s consciousness to a dialogue, even as his unconscious sways in the dream world inherent in any communication of talent. “THE CREATIVITY OF THE 21st CENTURY WILL BE FUSIONAL OR NOTHING”

JURE APIHBorn 1941, fi rst gained recognition in the early 70‘s as creative Director of Studio Marketing Delo, the fi rst real ad agency in the former Yugoslavia. After the introduction of democracy and the independance of Slovenia in early 90‘s he became a Member of the Board of the nation‘s largest Newspaper and Publishing House Delo, and since June 2001 he is the Chairman of the Board.
