(hiding, squatting, or leaning while voiding, has an interest in the toilet, indicates the need to be changed, etc.) Can he/she sit for 2-5 minutes at a time? SET A SCHEDULE THAT WORKS FOR YOU Include sitting on the toilet as part of your child’s daily routine- after waking, before mealtimes, before bath time, before bed, etc. Aim for 6 sits per day-can sit up to 1 time per hour. Sit for 3-5 minutes each time, no more than 10 minutes! CLEARLY COMMUNICATE EXPECTATIONS Use a visual schedule for established potty times throughout the day.
