Our good friend Pat Cairns came to school on Wednesday to help the Community Service Commission kick-off their Books for Botswana drive. Ms. Cairns shared with the students her favorite pictures from her trip to Botswana. She also shared pictures of the library in the

school she visited that only had a few books on their shelves.

She did a great job inspiring our students to bring in their gently used books. You still have time to donate books from your home. We will be collecting books for the next two weeks!

ART UPDATE This week in art the theme was overlapping shapes across all the grade levels. Kindergarten created overlapping tissue shape collage and the 4th graders did a cityscape with overlapping shapes. They looked at Romare Bearden for inspiration and also Kandinsky. Fifth graders continued the study of perspective. Breakfast with Santa The City will host its annual event on Saturday, December 15 at Point Dume Marine Science School.

Malibu, California – The City of Malibu will host its annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 15 at Point Dume Marine Science School, 6955 Fernhill Drive. Participants may choose from two different seating times: 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., or 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $5 per person or $15 for a family of four. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, orange juice and coffee. Children will have the opportunity to visit Santa Clause, who will be handing out holiday toys to all youngsters, as well as Santa’s Workshop to create a seasonal craft. Parents, don’t forget to bring your cameras to capture a photograph of holiday magic!
