Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered (Psalm 40:5).

Beyond our thoughts and imaginations, God has blessed us in the 2010 Ethiopian Project. Almost 7 months ahead of schedule, God has helped us to reach the targeted sum of S$500,000/- for the building project. This sum is made up of (i) S$207,000/- we have already collected (as published in todays weekly), and (ii) S$296,000/- promised by friends and members of the church.

A year ago, by His grace, we collected and paid about S$270,700/- for the purchase of a piece of land (9,546.25 sq m). So, altogether, the fund has reached almost S$775,000/-. This is Gods wondrous blessing upon our church and our Gospel missions.

I have advised all our mission churches to give thanks to the Lord in todays worship service. Our Chinese, Filipino and Malayalam services will also remember this special blessing and praise God. Let us also, in our English service today, take time to praise Him. My heart is strangely warmed by what the Lord has done; and I earnestly urge you to join me in praising the Lord.

The fund for the 2010 Ethiopian Project came not by chance, not by men, but by the hand of God; and when His hand moved by His own good pleasure towards us, the target is met. As the psalmist said, thy thoughts which are to us-ward.

The Lord acted faster than our mind can think. His hands gathered the finds faster than we can imagine. The pulses of His providence are quicker than any of us can conceive. How great and wondrous are His works. They are more than could be numbered.

O, let us contemplate the magnificence and wisdom of His works in our midst. Let us bless His name for the compassion He has shown to lift our burden in the work of the Gospel. Let us praise Him for the assurance that He has given us through His great and precious promises in His Word. Let us thank Him for stirring the hearts of His people to give sacrificially and speedily to meet the need.

The Sea of Galilee is also known as the Lake of Gennesaret (Luke 5:1). This lake is situated in the Jordan Rift Valley. The wind that passes through the funnel of the valleys there can cause the water of Galilee to be choppy. It can be a dangerous place to be in when the wind is blowing strongly.

This lake is also big in size. It is twenty-one kilometres long and thirteen kilometres wide, and if you go around it, it is fifty-three kilometres. This makes it bigger than Sentosa Island or the whole of tampines in Singapore!

Let us now study and see how far Jesus had to walk in order to reach His disciples. The Bible tells us that His disciples entered a ship during evening time, and they had rowed twenty-five or thirty furlongs (John 6:19). One furlong is the same as two hundred and one metres. If they managed to row thirty furlongs, that would mean that they were six thousand and thirty metres or about six kilometres from the shore. This fact tells us that the ship they were in was right in the middle of the Sea of Galilee because the width of it was thirteen kilometres. If the Lord Jesus had walked to His disciples from the shore, He would have to walk a distance of six kilometres.

Walking on water is an impossible task for man. Jesus not only walked on water; the water He walked on was choppy because of the strong wind that blew upon it (John 6:18). Only God Himself is able to do it, and Jesus is God!

When Jesus disciples, who were in the ship, saw Him walking on the water towards them, they were scared. Jesus had to assure them that it was really Him coming to them. But Peter wanted to be sure so he sought permission from Jesus to walk to Him. After Jesus said, Come, he stepped out of the ship and walked towards Him on the water. While walking, Peter looked at the strong wind rather than the Lord Jesus. He became afraid. As a result, he began to sink, and in his fear, cried to the Lord Jesus to save him. Immediately, Jesus saved him and rebuked him for doubting (Matthew 14:28-31).

The Lord Jesus Christ came into this chaotic world to save sinners. Each one of us is drowning in the sea of sin. Peter doubted for a moment and nearly sank. In the same way, if you continue in your sin of unbelief, you will drown. But just as the Lord Jesus

saved Peter when he cried for help, He will also stretch forth His hand to save you from your

sins if you call on Him. Look to Jesus today and be saved!

Jesus Walking on the Sea of Galileeby Pr Kelvin Lim

They see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went. John 6:19-21
