Today’s Readings

In a nutshell

Each person’s dignity is conferred by God, who values us infinitely.

Today, Jesus speaks to the guests in the house of one of the ‘leading’ Pharisees.

When dealing with each other, we are to be humble, rather than standing on our dignity.

By thinking ourselves better than others, we hurt them, sending the message that they are inferior.

Jesus is our peace, and his love makes us all one.

Entrance antiphon: I call to you all day long, have mercy on me, O Lord. You are good and forgiving, full of love for all who call to you.

Response to the psalm: God, in your goodness, you have made a home for the poor.

Gospel acclamation: Alleluia, alleluia! Take my yoke upon you; learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart. Alleluia!

Communion antiphon: O Lord, how great is the depth of the kindness which you have shown to those who love you.
