lhambra Season Partners & Guests,

I am so glad to have you here with us for Five Guys Named Moe. I am sure you enjoyed Chef DeJuan's culinary magic, and now you are in for some theatrical magic. This show will have you grooving all night long - and maybe into tomorrow. These fellas can sing and move, and Louis Jordan could certainly play some saxophone. We even added a live band to bring that feeling home. Though Mr. Jordan wrote the music for this show in the 1940s, he is said to have had a huge influence on rock 'n' roll's beginnings in the 1950s. Five Guys was nominated for a Best Musical Tony Award in 1991 and won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 1992 when the show ran in London's West End.

Make sure you take a look at the rest of our season. You certainly don't want to miss Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; not only will the music take you back to your childhood, but when else will you get to see a car fly inside the Alhambra? This year's Christmas show is the amazing, funny and truly heart-warming story, Elf the Musical. It is one of our fastest-selling Christmas shows, so I encourage you not to wait. My personal favorite for the rest of the season is 1776 and you're going to want to see what 28 people look like on this stage!

Of course, the next show up is A Fox on the Fairway. While you might not recognize this title, I assure you it is a great comedy whether you're a golf fan or not. We've also snuck a few music shows in-between - The Everly Brothers and Rocky Mountain High, featuring Ted Vigil as John Denver, are both back by very popular demand and will thus sell-out very quickly!

I would love to have you join us for all the shows in this "season of spectacular" because it is only with your support that we can keep doing what we do - making memories. Please grab me and say hello while you're here.

Kind regards,

Craig

Louis Jordan (1908 – 1975) was a pioneering American musician, songwriter, and band leader who was highly popular from the late 30s to the early 50s. His music was enjoyed by both black and white audiences. His “Saturday Night Fish Fry” was an early example of rap and possibly the first rock 'n' roll recording.
