Here take the traditional launch service to Wray Castle (pictured and open to the public) ready to start your gentle 4 mile stroll along the lake shore path to Ferry House. Before departing Ferry House on your next boat journey to Bowness, if time permits take the opportunity to visit Claife Viewing Station, which was built in the 1790s for the first tourists visiting the Lake District. Here, a Mountain Goatmini bus will be waiting to take you on to the NationalTrust’s Hill Top (the house of Beatrix Potter) andHawkshead.
