12th September—10am-8pm—Smooth Festival of Chocolate 13th September—10am-5pm NOVA Entertainment will celebrate decadent desserts and chocolate designs from the best patisseries, ice-creameries, chocolatiers and restaurants when the smooth Festival of Chocolate returns to The Rocks on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September. For the first time Arnott‟s Tim Tam will join the festival with the Arnott‟s Tim Tam Temptation Tent allowing festival attendees to experience one of Australia‟s favourite indulgences. Australian Chocolate Diamonds has also collaborated with Arnott‟s Tim Tam to create a $20,000 two carat chocolate diamond ring that an attendee will win over the weekend. Cost: Free!
12th September—2pm-6pm—Redfern Groove This September, Sydney Fringe Festival comes to Redfern, in partnership with Redfern Community Centre and sponsored by APRA AMCOS. In a line-up curated by Leah Flannagan, Redfern Groove will showcase Indigenous music hosted by Redfern Community Centre. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy an outdoor Fringe event and soak up the spring warmth. Cost: Free!

Mixed market: food, clothing, books, flowers, collectibles, hand crafted items, etc. Conducted
by Kings Cross Rotary Club in its support of local charities and other Rotary projects.

Reply to Leyonjhelm article, by Helen Crossing, Convenor 2011 Residents Association : Kings Cross underwent what can best be described as a disastrous social experiment from 2007- 2014. Already oversupplied with licensed premises, many with over-extended trading hours, the “nighttime economy” was allowed to expand beyond control. It attracted massive crowds of more than 20,000 people
per hour each weekend; this number of people in such a tiny district was unmanageable on any level. Add alcohol to the mix and chaos was inevitable.
However, the bigger cost was the totally senseless and unnecessary deaths of two young men. Those losses
were indeed “disgusting”, Mr Leyonjhelm. The current transitions taking place in Kings Cross resulting
from minor alterations to the liquor trade, by way of lockouts and last drinks, are most definitely not
disgusting. The only disgusting part is that they took so long.
