TARIFF INDUSTRY ASSISTANCE (ADVERTISEME'NI') NOTICE NO. 1986/6 Applications Advertised for Objection Closing Date for Objections 13/3/86

Notice is hereby given that the following applications have been made in respect of the goods advertised in the Schedule to this notice. Any person wishing to lodge an objection must do so in wri ting, to the •• Port of lodgement indicated by the reference number, before 13/3/86. All submissions must include:

the Tariff Duty Variation Notice number; the Tariff item; the Port; and Ref erence number.

2 All submissions from local manufacturers must include: the range of alternative goods made locally; the grounds on which objection is made (including reasons why the local product is a sui table al ternati ve); present and potential output; details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overheads, including the proportion of domestic and imported content.

3 All submissions objecting to a request for the imposition of duty must include: reasons why the local product on which protection is sought is not a suitable alternative; full technical details of the goods against which tariff protection is sought.

4 Where further information is required in order to make a submission an objector should contact the applicant in writing and refer a copy of the enquiry to the port where the application was lodged quoting the details in paragraph I above.

5 Any submission not supported by the information required in the paragraphs above will not be regarded as a valid objection.

the CustOllS Exchange Rates Notice (No.2) 1986. (2) This notice shall COllIe into force on the 1st day of

February 1986. 2. Exchange rates - Where under any provisions of the

Customa Act 1966 any lJII()unt which is required to be taken into account for the purpose of assessing duty or any other purpose is not an lJII()unt in New Zealand currency, the lJII()unt to be so taken into account shall be the equi valent in New Zealand currency of that lJII()unt ascertained in accordance with the rate of exchange set out in the Schedule to this notice.
