A picture is worth a thousand words. These pictures highlight a few of the remarkable, generous people who have chosen St.Vincent as the place to make a difference.

Cardiovascular surgeon and past Foundation Board Chair Dr. Bob Robison and his Climb for Cancer Team raised funds and climbed two mountains in Colorado in honor of a St.Vincent nurse and other patients fighting cancer.

Grateful patient Suzanne Gaidoo and her husband honored caregivers at St.Vincent Women’s with a Caring Angel gift after she was admitted into the hospital before giving birth to her twins, Davis and Josie, who then spent 49 days in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit.

Brebeuf student Abigail Boldt was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and used her love for horses to give back to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent. She raised funds for an equestrian themed room.

You, too, are an important part of the St.Vincent picture. 100% of your contributions to the Foundation support the programs, services, new equipment and technology you designate, making a difference for thousands of patients, families and physicians.

With your help this past year, we were able to:

• Fund over 20 patient programs, including pediatric music therapy, cancer survivorship and art therapy programs, bereavement programs and more.

• Purchase more than 25 pieces of new equipment and technology, including ventilators for our newborns in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit; tomosynthesis to help detect breast cancer sooner; and ambulances to transport our critically ill patients to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent for treatment.

• Better serve nearly 80,000 inpatients and over 3.5 million outpatients throughout all St.Vincent ministries.

These achievements are only a few of those made possible because of you. Thank you for your continued support and commitment!

A Few of Many 2013-2014 Special Moments

July 2013The Westfield High School men’s soccer team hosted its 5th Annual Shamrock Charity Challenge tournament, with proceeds benefiting patients and families served at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent.

September 2013The 2013 St.Vincent Cancer Walk was attended by more than 850 associates, cancer patients, friends and Central Indiana residents who raised $410,000 for programs and services at St.Vincent Cancer Care.

November 2013Baldwin & Lyons, Inc. supported and dedicated the Pacer/Fever Room at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent. This was the second of 10 themed rooms that Baldwin & Lyons committed to completing over five years.

August 2013Jim Powers chaired the 29th Annual St.Vincent Foundation Golf Outing. The golf outing raised over $150,000 to provide support services to individuals with developmental disabilities served at St.Vincent New Hope.

October 2013Over $480,000 was raised at the Saks Fifth Avenue Key to the Cure Gala, chaired by Dianne & L.H. Bayley and Kelly & Richard Freeman, MD. Funds from the event benefited St.Vincent women’s cancer programs, including the new mobile screening van and more.

December 2013St.Vincent Hospice dedicated a new spa room, thanks to a generous donation of longtime Hospice supporter Avis Skinner. The spa provides manicures and massages for hospice patients, features special bathing equipment, and includes aromatherapy and soothing music.

January 2014Students at St. Theodore Guerin Catholic High School raised funds to better serve patients and families at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent through their Survive ‘til Sunrise event.

February 2014Finishing touches were added to the Patient and Family Enhancement Project supported by the 2013 Associates Campaign. Associates came together to raise funds to renovate the Surgery Family Waiting Lounge, St.Vincent Women’s Hospital Waiting Areas, and three Medical Specialty Units.

April 2014Children and families across Indiana benefited from the inaugural RTV6 Telethon which raised more than $71,000 to support Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent.

The 7th Annual Celebration of Caring Gala honored the Daughters of Charity and raised over $1 million to support a planned hospitality house on the St.Vincent campus.

June 2014Touchdown for Kids hosted their 5th Annual Celebrity Golf Outing to help purchase new pediatric isolettes for transport use in St.Vincent ambulances.

March 2014The Pediatric Music Therapy Program was created through a generous gift by Joan Richey creating a permanent endowment and inspiring others to support the program. Blue Star Connection donated over 50 musical instruments for this new program.

May 2014Mrs. Hall’s third grade class joined other school and community groups who created and donated capes for kids at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent. More than 1,700 capes were distributed this year as part of The Hero Project.

Reach Out and Read“Since 2005, the Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center has been home to the Reach Out and Read program that encourages early literacy. Thanks to the support of St.Vincent Foundation donors, we were able to distribute nearly 4,500 books this year. Giving our patients the gift of reading provides a foundation for lifelong learning.”

CancerHelp Program “The CancerHelp kiosks are available at St.Vincent Cancer Center and 6 South Oncology unit. They are a great resource for patients, loved ones and staff. The kiosks allow access to educational information from the National Cancer Institute on topics from treatment and diagnosis, side effect management, coping with cancer, prevention, screening and more. They also allow folks to view and listen to educational videos too. These kiosks are only available because of your support – thank you!”
