Walk: Stewart McDermet (above) assisted with traffic control as we crossed the street during our 30th Walk for Life. More than 80 community members joined us as we remembered our friends who died from HIV-related illnesses. Samirah Evans and Sharon Powell provided lovely music throughout the program. Shirley Squires continues to inspire us by raising $300,000-and-counting for the AIDS Project over the past quarter century.

Frog Meadow Event: Frog Meadow B&B turned its 10th annual summer BBQ and auction into an online event raising over $5,000 for the AIDS Project.

Cookie Drop: Thanks to the generosity of our volunteer bakers and platter assembly crew, cookies were delivered to 26 agencies that supported our work in 2017.

World AIDS Day: Members of the Guilford Community Church Choir uplift us with beautiful songs at our World AIDS Day commemoration on December 1. As part of our World AIDS Day Commemoration, Lise Sparrow of the Guilford Community Church updates us on the church’s ongoing work in Kaiguchu, Kenya.

Drag Show: The Ladies of the Rainbow impressed us once again as they gave generously of their time and talent at the benefit Drag Show raising $5,000 for the AIDS Project.

Holiday Bags: Veronica Wheelock continued her annual tradition of brightening the holidays by creating individual gift bags for clients.

We here at the AIDS Project of Southern Vermont are helping more than 80 clients with nutritious food, safe and affordable housing, free confidential HIV and hepatitis C testing, and access to health care, medications, safer sex supplies, sterile syringes and treatment referrals. The following snapshots illustrate just some of the work of our Brattleboro and Bennington offices in 2017.

As we prepare to mark our 30th anniversary, we remain committed to addressing the needs of individuals living with or at risk for contracting HIV – and appreciating the community for its continued support.
