• Dear Daddy,• You are a gem in a million• You sat, cuddle and watch my infant head with passion• Your affectionate smile profiled how much I meant to you • I watched you pray with reverence and recite pages of the big book night

after night even though it meant little to me because I was too young to understand

• You taught me all I needed to know about faith and hard work by simple eloquence of your example even though I was too feeble to understand

• You led the way even when you were edgy and unsure of what to do• We staggered and shuffled but you kept your faith in God even though we

were dog tired • I try to follow in your footsteps now that I am a father• With many competing influences out there I have come to realize how

important that big book was to you • Now I realize how difficult it must have been for you daddy with me

highlighting some of your imperfections• Nevertheless your life on those kneels talking to God is a key inspiration

because I am learning to do the same for my children now as father
