Supplies

Pencils (re-supply during year)Notebook Paper Spiral is optional

I prefer Math done in pencil, NOT PEN!!

Tests Test Schedule: Tests will be given on Wednesday and Friday. If there is a change of day, it will be announced in advance. Concepts Covered: Tests will include materials covered over the past several days. Each test will also include skills covered in previous weeks.

Assignments Assignments: Daily work is done all in class. Students will not have homework in Power Math. Missed assignments: Students must make arrangements with the teacher to make up missed assignments.

Grades

Major Grades: All tests and major projects will be averaged each six weeks. This is 50% of the six weeks grade. Retest will work similar to their regular math class.

Daily Grades: All daily grades will be averaged each six weeks and are 50% of the six weeks grade. Daily work includes quizzes, stations, and minor activities. Any daily assignment below a 70 may be corrected and turned back in to earn points back. The highest grade they may earn is a 70.

Homework grades: There is no homework in Power Math.

6th Grade tutorials are on the following days. 8:15 – 8:45am 4:00 – 4:30pm

Conference Period

If you would like to arrange a conference, please keep in mind that my conference time is 4th period each day from 2:25-3:00. I am also available most days before or after school.

Important ReminderIf your message is an emergency, please call the main office number 832-375-7500. I may not get an email or check my voicemail in time to relay a message prior to the end of the school day.

   

               

Reflex MathThe district subscribes to a program that helps students build their math fact fluency. This program tests where they are now and builds their fluency over time. It is encouraged for your child to work on this program for about 15 minutes 2-3 times per week. We will use this program during class, but it is also available at home.

Once they have chosen the class period they should see their name. They will click on their name and enter kisd12345 (student id number) as their password. If their name is not there please let me know.
