Hi from Nat’l. Chevy, Our wonderful fall continues this year. It has been so nice that I hate to be indoors. It has been great for us as we have had a lot of time to get things in order for winter, such as moving cars and machinery, etc., so the snow can be plowed. I keep busy in the yard on weekends when I’m home so my lawn still looks pretty good. We also have gotten the shop in order, done roof repairs including a new roof on the building, got our fence back up and some painting done. I don’t miss the tree that came down ‘cause we don’t have a roof or parking area full of leaves any more. I’ve been keeping pretty busy at the shop here and I’m still working on our new items. We’ll let you know when they’re done. Thanks once again for sending pictures for the newsletter. They are an important part of the newsletter and I ap-preciate the help. Keep them coming please. Please mail the photos – not emails – as photos are easier to work with in that format. I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving. I have to cook, but it’s good to have the family together. My nephew lives in Alaska and he should be home for the first time in a couple of years so we’ll all be together. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and ‘til next time..........

Cover Car

Hello to all at the National Chevy Association

Attached are some photos of my 1954 Chevy 210 2-door Sedan. My wife Gayle and I purchased this car in Hays, KS in May 2008 and just finished it today, March 21, 2010. The car had a lot of dings and dents with the only rust in the front floors and the lower rear quarter panels. My body guy called it the “walnut” because of all the dents. Here is a list of modifications: Chopped top, back window from a 1950 Chevy Fleetline Aerosedan, tilted door posts with rounded corners, nosed, decked, shaved, hood seam welded solid, 1959 Chevy dash (narrowed 11”), 1955 Olds headlights, 1955 Plymouth tail lights, center of grill is from a 1955 Plymouth, steering wheel is a 1959 Chevy with a 15” diameter, Mustang II front suspension, Chassis Engineering rear spring kit, rebuilt Chevy 350 motor and 700R4 transmission, Nova rear end. I did the tear down, stripped it, did all the electrical, mechanical and put it back together. I have some very good friends who helped me with the rest

of the work. Lanny Loos in Winner, SD did all my chopping and bodywork. Larry Dobson welded the tail lights in for me. Jeff Roling at Classic Auto did the final body blocking and then painted it black base coat with flat clear. Darren Carlson did the interior using silver soft touch vinyl with 1957 Chevy black cloud pattern cloth inserts. Pat Halter straightened and polished my stainless to perfection. John Britton was my technical advisor. Even though it’s been customized, I was still able to get a lot of great quality parts from the National Chevy Association. Your staff was always very helpful and the service was great. The car looks great and drives great. It will get lots of miles put on it this summer! And it’s all due to my awesome friends. I have another ‘54 Chevy waiting to get worked on and I will be buying once again from the National Chevy Association.

Thanks for all your help,Mick and Gayle EvenLeMars, IA
