I N T R O D U C T I O N

1. ScopeThis manual lists spares and repair parts; special tools;special test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment(TMDE), and other special support equipment requiredfor performance of direct support and general supportmaintenance of the Electronic Equipment Configura-tion Army Model CH-54B Helicopter. It authorizesthe requisitioning and issue of spares and repair partsas indicated by the source and maintenance codes.

2 . G e n e r a l

This Repair Parts and Special Tools List is divided intothe following sections.

a. Section II Repair Parts List. A list of spares andrepair parts authorized for use in the performance ofmaintenance The list also includes parts which mustbe removed for replacement of the authorized parts.Parts lists are composed of functional groups innumeric sequence, with the parts in each group listedin figure and item number sequence.

b. Section III Special Tools List. Not applicable.c. Section IV National Stock Number and Part

Number Index. A list, in National item identificationnumber (NIIN) sequence, of all National stock num-bers (NSN) appearing in the listings, followed by a list,in alphameric sequence, of all part numbers appearingn the listings National stock numbers and part num-bers are cross-referenced to each illustration figureand item number appearance.

3. Explanation of Columns

Code Description

XD- support item that is not stocked. When re-quired, item will be procured through normalsupply channels.

NOTECannibalization or salvage may be used as asource of supply for any items source codedabove except those coded XA and aircraftsupport items as restricted by AR 700-42.(2) Maintenance code. Maintenance codes are as-

signed to indicate the levels of maintenance authorizedto USE and REPAIR support items. The maintenancecodes arc entered in the third and fourth positions ofthe Uniform SMR Code format as follows:

(a) The maintenance code entered in the thirdposition will indicate the 1owest maintenance level au-thorized to remove, replace, and use the support item.The maintenance code entered in the third positionwill indicate one of the following levels of main-tenance:Code Application/Explanation0- Support item is removed, replaced, used at the or-

ganizational level.H-Support item is removed, replaced, used at the

general support level.(b) The maintenance code entered in the fourth

position indicates whether the item is to be repairedand identifies the lowest maintenance level with thecapability to perform completed repair (i.e., all author-ized maintenance functions) This position will containone of the following maintenance codes::Code Application/ExplanationH-The lowest maintenance level capable of complete

repair of the support item is the general supportlevel.

c. National Stock Number. Indicates the Nationalstock number assigned to the item and will be used forrequisitioning purposes

d. Part Number. Indicates the primary number usedby the manufacturer (individual, company, firm, cor-poration, or Government activity), which controls thedesign and chracteristics of the item by means of itsengineering drawings, specifications, standards, andinspection requirements to identify an item or rangeof items

NOTEWhen a stock numbered item IS requisi-tioned, the repair part received may have adifferent part number than the part being re-placed.

e. Federal Supply Code for Manufacturer (FSCM).The FSCM is a 5-dig;lt numeric code listed in SB708-42 which is used to identify the manufacturer,distributor, or Government agency, etc.

f. Description Indicates the Federal item name and,if required, a minimum description to identify theitem

g. Unit of Measure (U/M). Indicates the standard ofthe basic quantity of the listed item as used in per-forming the actual maintenance function. This meas-ure is expressed by a two-character alphabetical abbre-viation (e g., ea, in, pr, etc). When the unit of measurediffers from the unit of issue, the lowest unit of issuethat will satisfy the required units of measure will berequisitioned.

h. Quantity Incorporated in Unit. Indicates thequantity of the item used in the breakout shown on theillustration figure, which is prepared for a functionalgroup, subfunctional group, or an assembly A “V”appearing in this column in lieu of a quantity indicatesthat no specific quantity is applicable, (e.g., shims,spacers, etc).
