The Government of the United Sates of America has three divisions or branches:
The executive branch
The legislative branch
The judicial branch
The executive branch
The executive branch is governed by the President. The President lives in the White
House and works in the Oval Office.
The legislative branch
The legislative branch is divided into two groups. They are the Senate and the House of
Representatives. Together, they form Congress. Congress meets in the Capitol to make new
rules for the people of the United States.
The judicial branch
The judicial branch is also known as the Supreme Court. It is governed by nine judges. These judges are appointed by the President and
approved by Congress.
