Title: Diary of a Wimpy Kid Old School Series: Diary of a Wimpy Kid Author: Jeff Kinney Genre: Realistic Fiction Reviewed by: Jacob Snow My opinion on this book is very fascinating indeed I think it is goofy and hilarious it had me almost cry from laughter also I really enjoyed the ending because it was quite silly. I like the smaller parts that I couldn't fit in because of the summary size I found them very humorous. Opinion I recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humor and some time to kill because it is quite long. Recommendation The beginning of the book starts with Greg Heffley complaining about how grown ups always talk about the “good old days” but Greg just can't see what was so great about it. The next day was normal until Greg makes a horrible mistake and drops the toothpaste cap in the sink and floods the bathroom. Greg begins to panic but then he remembers that the school had advertised a week long field trip to a camp and Greg out of pure terror decides to go. Then he here's of Silas Scratch the crazy farmer that went wild when people kicked him of the land to turn it into a camp. People out of pure terror make themselves sick by doing anything to go home. In fact Greg’s chaperone gets sick and has to leave and guess who the replacement chaperone is Greg’s dad. The final task of the camp was to spend a night in the woods. Greg realizes that there fire had gone out so he goes out into the woods to find more. He kept walking until he found an old shack he just had to check it out. He walked inside and he ran into his dad coming out of the bathroom and then Greg realized that this was no normal bathroom and that in fact it was clean as a whistle. His dad explained how he made up Silas Scratch to keep people out of the woods so they would never find his secret bathroom. The next day Greg and his father leave the camp never to return and maybe that is for the best.
