TIPTRONIC TRANSMISSION TIPTRONIC FIGURE

TIPTRONIC TRANSMISSIONA Tiptronic transmission is an automatic transmission that can be controlled like a manual transmission. In a standard automatic transmission, a computer selects which gear the car should operate in, but a Tiptronic transmission gives this control to the driver. The name "Tiptronic" was created by Porsche, who made the first such transmission, but it also can refer to similar transmission systems from other manufacturers. The gate has a + and - sign, the plus for upshifting and the minus sign for downshifting. Some models also offer the ability to shift with buttons on the steering wheel.

A Tiptronic transmission is a sort of cross between an automatic and a manual transmission. It uses a paddle shifter, usually attached to the steering wheel, but does not have a clutch. The driver can shift gears as he reaches higher accelerations, but does not have to worry about engaging and disengaging the engine, which can be a frustrating skill to learn. Tiptronics are also useful because they can be activated or deactivated. If the driver wants to control the gears, she can turn on the Tiptronic system. However, if she just wants an automatic transmission, she can turn it off.

OPERATIONDownshift by pulling the gear lever back to the minus sign if you are using the shift lever or press the - button to downshift. The gearbox will select the next lowest gear. Try to downshift through the gears before you drive into a corner. If you downshift in the middle of a turn, particularly if you are driving fast or driving on a track, the composure of the vehicle may become upset and cause a potentially dangerous situation. To reverse a car with a tiptronic gearbox, simply place the gear lever in the automatic gate and in the reverse gear. Also, tiptronic gearboxes will revert back to automatic mode after a predetermined amount of time goes by when the driver has not selected shifts.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONCONTROL SYSTEMHYDRAULIC CONTROL SYSTEMThe hydraulic system makes fluid pressure that transmits power through the torque converter. It also senses vehicle speed and engine load, directing fluid to reaction members at the correct time to cause Shifts. Parts of the hydraulic system include a pump, pressure regulator, manual valve, vacuum modulator, governor, shift valves, servos, pistons and control valve body. A transmission technician will use a service manual chart of the hydraulic system to solve transmission problems.

HYDRAULIC CONTROL SYSTEMa.Fluid PumpThe transmission fluid pump, located just behind the torque converter at the front of the transmission, is driven by lugs on the outside of the snout of the torque converter. The fluid pump does several things: It creates the fluid flow and hydraulic pressure to apply to the clutches and bands. It provides lubrication to the parts in the transmission. It fills the torque converter. It circulates fluid throughout the transmission and to the heat exchanger in the radiator in the front of the vehicle to cool the transmission. Its pressure operates valves in the hydraulic valve body.

Vane typeThe (ATF) is sent from the pump to the pressure regulator before being distributed by the valve body. Its called line pressure (35 psi). In the converter fluid circuit, it is pumped to the torque converter and cooler before returning to the transmission. SILA RUJUK NOTA DALAM WORDAutomatic transmission valve
