3:15p – 4:30p Concurrent Educational Session (Manager Track) Enhancing the Customer Experience with Technology, Jim Ferguson, Sitelink & Holly Fiorello, FindLocal Storage

The customer experience has many different touch points. Consumers research your business online, visit the facility in person and often engage after the purchase. In competitive markets, customers are often won and retained with excellent customer service. Do you understand your customer demographics and communication preferences? Have a handle on today’s technology and its benefits? Do you know if you are exceeding customer expectations? As technology in our industry evolves, the ability to serve customers where, when and how they want becomes even more important. Attend this session to answer these questions and learn how to create word of mouth referrals by having a seamless customer experience using technology and in-store best practices.

Friday, April 17:00a – 8:30a General Attendee Breakfast Buffet & Networking

7:30a – 8:30a Hot Coffee / Hot TopicsSession 1 – Real Estate Values Across America, Nicholas Malagisi, SVN

Session 2 - Developing Leadership skills in yourself and your people, Frank Certo, Guardian StorageOur owners, district managers, and property managers wear many hats. Chief amongst them is the responsibility for overseeing and growing a (several) multi-million dollar facility(s), its tenants, and all of its operations. That takes a multitude of skills and can’t be accomplished alone. How good are you at leading the staff? Training your district managers and property managers to do the same? Getting the most out of every interaction with customers? Setting the pace in attitude and work ethic as an example for all to follow? Taking charge in the community? These are all tasks that require a big picture mentality, great self-awareness and communication skills. This session will help develop those in us and in our most important assets, the people that represent our organization to the prospect and public.

8:30a – 9:45a Concurrent Educational Session (Manager Track)Enhancing Your Facility Management Skill Set for Success, March Chase, Southeast Management Company

We live in a world and work in an industry that has and continues to rapidly advance in technology. Human interaction, in most cases, has been replaced by automation. Email and texts are more preferred methods of communication than phone calls or face-to-face meetings. Yet, we put significant emphasis on supreme customer service as a quality and imperative that our stores and industry must adhere to. As an owner’s biggest asset, the self storage manager is key to a self storage business’s success. This session will help a manager create a mindset for success; understanding how to view yourself, fully understanding the power of self-confidence and self-esteem and creating a strategic vision to know what’s next, what’s needed and working to advance your skills to make your store the best it can be.
