A characteristic design language with a proven and

exceptionally enduring global appeal is what sets the

design studio Jacob Jensen Design apart.

During the early 60s, Danish designer Jacob Jensen

merged the International and MAYA styles in a unique,

ultramodern design language with maximum consumer

appeal. He labelled it “Different but not Strange”. Since

the mid-1980s, his son, designer Timothy Jacob Jensen,

has continued to refine and evolve the design style

by applying it to new areas and product categories.

Together the two generations have created a classic yet

visionary design language that continues to influence

and enrich the world through innovative designs.

In 1986, the Museum of Modern Art in New York included

the watches in its Design Study Collection.

They were the first products marketed under the trademark

of JACOB JENSEN. Now, 35 years after the first sketches

were made, the Classic has been updated while keeping it’s

renowned ‘Day and Night‘ design.

The inner face of the watch has got a vertical dropped

groove, which extenuates its three dimensional character.

It amplifies the illusion of the strap flowing seamlessly

through the watch face.

The JACOB JENSEN alarm clocks are light and elegant and have a good size for the bedside table.

In addition, they are easy to operate and come with a silent clockwork and a beautiful illuminated

display, which is easy to read, even in the dark.

The silver and black dial of the timepieces created an

association with the daily cycle of night and day and light

and dark.

A sense of purity pervades the minimal design

of the clock with its simple circular face set in an

elegant square frame. The clock face has no digits,

which allows the clean lines of the hands to glide

elegantly across the blank canvas, marking time.
