t Time…

is the one resource of which everyone

has the same amount. Everyone has

just 168 hours per week to spend.

If the work you do doesn’t fit into the

time you have,

the work is the only thing you can

change.

And that’s what time management is

all about.

What is Time Management?

Time management is a

misnomer; you can not manage

time, as it is not capable of

expansion or contraction.

It is only possible to manage

your activities in that time.

Time Management Approaches

Time Management has 3 main approaches:

1. Do the right work.

2. Get through the same amount of work more effectively.

3. Reduce the amount of work.

1- Do the right work

• People should always be asking themselves:

What is the best use of my time right now?

Page 7: Time management 1st approach

In the 1800’s an Italian economist, Vilfredo

Pareto, identified that 80% of the wealth of

the country was owned by 20% of the people.

In the 1950’s two of the early "quality gurus"

Deming and Juran, noticed in their work that

20% of the causes result in 80% of the results.

Pareto Law (80/20 Rule) .

The 80 / 20 Rule

vital 20% of things that

really matter?

Try to delegate your 80% of effort to other who can perform it better.

• Much of time management is about setting

priorities, and identifying those tasks that are

important, as distinct from those that are urgent.
