Note: Students must be accepted to the third year as a prerequisite for all 300 and 400 level ARC courses, except ARC341
**Elective Options: Students are encouraged to explore elective offerings in different disciplines. If electives are taken in architecture, students are
recommended to take studio and representational, art and drawing courses such as: ART212: Painting I, ART223X: Photography I, ART311: Drawing III,
ART315: Ceramics I, ART316: Ceramics II, ARC410: Advanced Digital Representation I, ARC442: Advanced Architectural Drawing. Those students who
have satisfied all elective requirements may take up to 6 credits of graduate elective as an undergraduate, once they are seniors in credits earned, are
in good standing, and with the permission of the Department Chair.
*Spring Semester of the third year is the designated semester for a study abroad option. General Education courses must be taken in another
semester. ARC courses in the spring and summer semester are typically substituted through the Study Abroad program process.
Architecture courses are sequential. Therefore, students must successfully pass a course with a minimum of a C- to meet the prerequisite of the next
course in the sequence. Example: ARC231 must be passed in order to take ARC232, and ARC251 must be passed in order to be eligible to take
ARC252, and so on throughout the curriculum.

Communication Arts Conference: You must participate in the Communication Arts Conference each semester, but you get 1 credit in your last semester at Judson.
Most students find it beneficial to take Internship and/or Group Discussion and/or a lab science in a summer term. This allows them to take several extra electives
during the four years.
Communications Workshop is a contribution of service learning to the college community or an appropriate not-for-profit community organization. You must have at
least two semester of these pass/fail half-credit courses, but we recommended you contribute almost every semester.
You must take either Photography for Digital Media or Video Production I, although you may take both.
You must take both Advertising and Public Relations.
Advanced literature courses include The Inklings, Hero and anti-Hero, Man and Woman, Prophetic Comedy, Man and Nature; Faith and Doubt, Light in Darkness,
Children's Literature or Adolescent Literature.
You must complete at least one internship (140 or more hours spent with a professional communication organization) and you may complete two internships as long
as they are significantly different experiences. Note: It is highly recommended they you complete your Senior Internship during the summer term.
Senior Research Project should be completed during either the fall or spring of your last year.

As part of the media major component, you must take either Introduction to Business (usually taken in the first or second year) or Leadership and Changes (in the third or forth
year). You may decide to take both
Communications Workshop is a contribution of service learning to the college community or an appropriate not-for-profit community organization. You must have at least 2
semester of these pass/fail half-credit courses, but we recommended you contribute almost every semester.
Most students find it beneficial to take Internship and/or Group Discussion and/or a lab science in a summer term. This allows them to take several extra electives during the four
years.
You must take either Advertising or Public Relations, although you may take both.
You must take two advanced speech courses (such as SPC220 Oral Interpretation/Literature; SPC221 Speech Techniques for Broadcast Media; SPC320 Argumentation & Debate;
SPC321 Persuasion or SPC323 Advanced Public Speaking.) NOTE: Group discussion also is almost always taught during a three week summer term.
Adv liturature courses include Eminent British Writers, American Literature Since 1865, The Inklings, Hero & Anti-Hero, Man & Woman, Prophetic Comedy, Man & Nature; Faith &
Doubt, Light in Darkness, Children's Literature or Adolescent Literature.
You must complete at least 1 internship (140 or more hours spent with a professional communication organization) and you may complete 2 internships as long as they are
significantly different experiences. Note: It is highly recommended that you complete your Senior Internship during the summer term.
Senior Research Project should be completed during either the fall or spring of your last year.
Communication Arts Conference: You must participate in the Communication Arts Conference each semester, but you get 1 credit in your last semester at Judson.
You must take either Photography for Digital Media or Video Production I, although you may take both.
