Construction of a new CarMax dealership in Beaverton Oregon consists of a new 146,000 square foot cast-in-place parking structure. The new 3-level parking structure
needed extensive ground improvements including over 500, 25’ long rammed aggregate piers.

The parking structure was 46’8” in height and provided parking accommodations for 210 vehicles. A very challenging aspect of the project was the first floor utilized extensive high bay shoring for the 24’ tall elevated level 1. The assembly and dis-assembly of concrete formwork was carefully thought out with extreme caution
due to the heights involved with this work.

The concrete structure includes concrete columns, decks, walks, and elevator construction. The suspended slabs were formed using a post tensioned beam
system combined with wood joist panels.
