FORTHCOMING EVENTS

With better weather approaching we are planning a number of

outings. We plan to visit

Birdworld, go on a trip down the

Basingstoke canal, visit Alice Holt

Forest and the Rural Life Centre to mention a few.

If you have any

photos you would

like to send to our service users such as

family celebrations

or new additions to

the family then you can always

send them to [email protected] and we can print and

show your relatives.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

The New Year started and we had

to say goodbye to two of our

entertainers, Kevin Jacot (pianist) and Alan Briant (accordionist). We

still have our singer Victor Munro

and Gill from Music for Health, as

well as various church visits and our P.A.T. dogs Molly and Monty.

P.A.T. Dogs Molly and Monty visited

the Home

Jonti with Marie – Tilford Park’s

entertainer at our New Year Party

Due to the snow in December our

Christmas Party became a New Year Party. A big thank you to all of

you that came and made it the

success it was. An even bigger

thank you to all of you who gave

so generously to our raffle, the amount raised will go in to our

amenity fund.

The snow did not stop Santa from delivering presents!

In December we spent time making

Christmas decorations and decorating our Christmas trees.

Over the past few months we have had

visits from the Farnham 1st’s Girls Brigade and Bordon Junior School (see

picture below) who sang carols to all of

us.

EASTER SUNDAY

24 April 2011

An Easter Blessing Bless this day the joy of life,

The revelation of the flesh,

The paradise of man and wife

Joined to share the gift of bliss.

Bless this day the pain of life,

The passion that redeems the flesh,

The love between a man and wife

Beyond all agony and bliss.

Bless this day the end of life,

The peace within the dying flesh,

The bond between a man and wife

That long outlasts their bit of bliss.

Bless this day the whole of life,

The grace of being more than flesh,

The voyage of a man and wife,

Across the mystery of bliss.

MOTHERING SUNDAY

3rd April 2011 The equivalent of Mothers Day in other

countries, is Mothering Sunday in UK. Since the 16th century is has been

celebrated on the fourth Sunday in Lent. It always has been the day to thank our

mothers for all the things they do for us.

Keep an eye on the notice board for activities we are holding for both Easter

and Mothering Sunday.

invited to come along and discuss ways

to improve the home, and any

forthcoming events for the residents

A Sonnet for My Incomparable Mother

By Joanna Fuchs

I often contemplate my childhood, Mum.

I am a mother now, and so I know, Hard work is mixed together with the fun; You learned that when

you raised me long ago.

I think of all the things you gave to me: Sacrifice, devotion, love and tears,

Your heart, your mind, your energy and soul - All these you spent

on me throughout the years.

You loved me with a never-failing love

You gave me strength and sweet security, And then you did the

hardest thing of all:

You let me separate and set me free.

Every day, I try my best to be,

A mother like the mum you were to me.
