The former World Number 1 has struggled with injury and his results from the few starts he has made in various Golf Tours around the world have left him and his millions of followers disappointed. The demise of Tiger is disappointing for many reasons. He also put the game of golf back into the imaginations of many past and aspiring players and the Tiger effect has always been a positive for the game. On the other hand, the man that many people have long predicted to take over from Tiger as the biggest name in golf, has had a stellar year. Rory MĐIlroy’s OpeŶ ChaŵpioŶship, USPGA Championship and more than $8M in prize money from these and other victories around the world, mean he has the stats and the game, to be quite obviously the best golfer on the planet. 2015 proŵises to ďe eǀeŶ ďigger for Rory ǁith the year’s first ŵajor, The US Masters, the oŶly ŵajor he needs to join legends of the game such as Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Gary Player and Tiger Woods as the only men to win all four major championships in their careers.
