The new colors, and the rest of the redesign project, have really been encouraging leaders, parents and children!
We are super excited to have teams: praying, teaching/ leading, sewing, woodworking, wall painting, artistic painting, note writing, playing musical instruments, organizing, cleaning and so much more! Let Donna know if you would like to participate in any of these areas.
ELEVATES’ Kick Off was last Wednesday night. We were expecting 27 children and 52 came! God provided the needed leaders!
SUNDAY MORNING TEACHING has been so great! It is a true joy to see the smiles on the kids’ faces during their break-out groups and connection times with their leaders and their friends! We have also been super blessed to hear from students sharing with us, what their teachers have taught them!
We are intentionally partnering with parents to have both parts of the team, parents and teaching leaders at church, to be reinforcing the same Bible lessons and truths each week at church and at home. In addition to take home items, we are sending out reminders & helps to parents during the week via twitter, texts, FB posts and emails. IMMEDIATE VOLUNTEER OPENINGS: 1. A weekly, or biweekly, classroom assistant in the 1
st grade & 3
rd grade classrooms.
2. 2. A student buddy during the 1st hour Children Church class – help a specific student who may be struggling
listening or participating. 3. Musicians who would like to lead worship during CC for 15 minutes during either service. 4. 2-5 Leaders who would like to serve during the SS hour, with some children who have some learning challenges. (This class doesn’t have students yet, we are trying to build it so we can be ready for when Jesus sends them.) NURSERY: Even the little ones are being taught the same Bible lessons and truths the big kids are, at their level. Each time anyone steps foot in the Nursery you can see a beautifully clean and safe environment, that is filled with such loving care being given to those precious children, as well as get to hear God’s truths being taught and reinforced.
NURSERY OPPORTUNITIES 1. Letting Katie know you are happy to serve by being a substitute when another leader is unavailable to serve. 2. Being an assistant during the SS hour in either classroom.
Call or text Katie at 907-231-7470 or email her at [email protected]. HARVEST PARTY: TREASURE HUNT We are going to be taking the children on an adventure in learning about Jesus, while having a lot of fun! The format will be a bit different this year due to the building changes that we are experiencing.
HARVEST PARTY NEEDS: 1. Candy to be dropped off in the box near the office &/or at the box near the Nursery.
2. Leaders to sign up to serve – please send Donna Robbins an email letting her know if you are willing to serve at the Harvest Party.
Just last week at Elevate, a 2
nd grade girl said to a leader “Hi! I remember you! I was here when you had the big
maze” (from last year’s Harvest Party). This week we are blessed to be able to give the little girl her first Bible!!!
3. Volunteers to serve at a booth: running games and teaching simple truths. 4. Greeters to chat with families in the “Connection Room”.
ADDITIONAL NEED: A storage cabinet – Do you have a cabinet that is in good repair that you no longer need? Contact Donna. Children’s Ministry Prayer Team - Prayer Requests: 1. Protection for volunteers as they serve, for families & children to grow in Christ, and for the redesign of the Children’s Wing. 2. Pray for the Children’s Ministry Leaders as they seek to serve Jesus in various ways. 3. Pray for children to be hungry for God’s Word and His truths. 4. Pray for the Children’s Ministry team leaders as they serve Him in every aspect of this ministry. Plray for guidance, wisdom, clarity of thought & details. Pray specifically for Donna and Katie as they seek to hear from the Lord for His guidance as they serve/ lead in this ministry. 5. Pray that electronic items will work well and for people understanding for the users. 6. Pray for clear direction, strength & wisdom in ministering to families throughout the various ministries. 7. Praise the Lord for all He has done and is doing in Children’s Ministry!
