Please pray for healing. 8/17 Jennifer Caldwell (C.W. and Fern Casey’s daughter) is having health issues. 8/19 Michelle Cook (Linda Fountain’s sister) started chemo on 6/20, and is facing complications from fever. She is getting platelets and blood very frequently, in preparation for a bone marrow transplant.

    UPCOMING EVENTS MEN’S BREAKFAST–Our next Men’s Breakfast will be on Sunday, August 28, at 8:00am. Men in the church age 16 and older are encouraged to attend. If you would like to help prepare the breakfast, please see Doug Walker. CLUBHOUSE BACK IN SESSION–The Kids’ Clubhouse, our program for school-aged kids during the worship service, is back to its normal time! This is a special service for our elementary school aged children during the regular worship service at 10:45am. The nursery is currently on its normal schedule for infants and preschoolers. FOOD PANTRY DRIVE–We continue to need all food items to replenish our stock. We are going to have a different push every couple of weeks to refill it. This week we are asking for canned meats, such as tuna and chicken, as well as peanut butter. A list of additional foods you can contribute is available at the display in the lobby. It is next open on Saturday, September 17, so if you are able to help by working at the pantry, there is also a signup sheet available. BUILDING FUND MATCH–Our donation match is still effective this year for all contributions toward the Education Building Loan fund. For every two dollars contributed, one will be matched from the David Masten fund. ICE CREAM SOCIAL–There will be an ice cream fellowship for the entire church on Sunday, September 11, at 6:00pm. We would love for you to make your favorite home-made ice cream to share! There will be games, such as horseshoes and corn hole. Please plan to join us for this time of fellowship as a church family. GLOBAL IMPACT MISSIONS CONFERENCE–On Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, we will hold our annual Global Impact Missions Conference. There will be multiple events over both days, with guest speakers focusing on missions work and education. Watch here for details!

    PRAISE 8/10 Mary Lou Dean would like to thank everyone for their prayers during

    her illness and persistent cough. She will be back soon. Also, her new book is currently being bound and published, and will be available soon.

    8/19 Over the past 6 months, I have had two surgeries. Thank you for the calls, cards, and especially the prayers. I really appreciate everything. Unfortunately, still having some issues, so please continue those prayers. Again, thank you church family for everything.

    SHORT TERM 7/20 Lewis Hawkins (Judi Swaim’s brother) had a kidney removed

    because of cancer. He starts six weeks of BCG treatments on July 18. Pray for his salvation!

    7/27 Will Pitts (submitted by Paul Raker, Jr.,) is still in pain after neck surgery. Please pray for God’s healing hand.

    7/29 Brenda West had surgery on July 26, and is recovering, but dealing with some swelling.

    8/3 Carolyn Thomas’s mother passed away on July 30. Please be in prayer for Ralph and Carolyn, as well as the rest of the family.

    8/3 Donna Norris had successful knee surgery on August 2. She is recovering at Linda Fountain’s house.

    8/3 Betty Haney is recovering from a surgery in preparation for receiving a heart transplant. Please pray for healing.

    8/3 Cameron McDaniel (submitted by Ken West) has a brain tumor that has not responded to chemotherapy.

    8/3 Tommy Younts (submitted by Paul Raker Jr.); Pray for positive results from recent CAT scan. He is praying that cancer has not returned.

    8/10 Gerry Goodwin was admitted to Kernersville Hospital for breathing issues. She is now recovering at home.

    8/17 Deb Weaver asked for prayer for the Women’s Retreat on Friday and Saturday this week. Pray for God’s wisdom and leading.

    LONG TERM

    6/10 Tom Konopka (friend of Perry and Renee Reid) continues to battle leukemia. He must wait to gain strength before he can proceed with treatment. Please pray for healing and strength.

    6/29 Stacy Wilkins (Linda Smith’s niece) had a mass discovered in her lung, and it was found to be cancerous. She is getting ready to start chemo and radiation, and it will be a long process.

    6/29 Christie DeMoss (submitted by Paul Raker, Jr.) May God be with Christie during this long battle with cancer. His Grace is sufficient!

    7/09 Don Carpenter has Guillain-Barre Syndrome. It is a bacterial disease, and may be several months before he is better.
